Chapter 897 The Fighter Jet Model
Before Natalie could finish speaking, Claudia moved forward and wrapped her in a tight hug.
Hector was alive.
He truly was alive.
A soft smile touched Natalie’s lips as she gently patted Claudia’s back. Soon, the fabric of her shirt grew warm and damp with tears.
Hearing the commotion, Natalie’s parents came out from the other room. Their gaze drifted over the small crowd at the door before settling on Claudia.
Claudia quickly wiped her eyes and released Natalie.
“It’s Claudy! Come on in–we just finished dinner,” Natalie’s father, Oscar, said warmly.
Hector hadn’t been pulled from the rubble until three days after the earthquake hit.
By then, he’d already been transferred to another hospital. His injuries were severe–he nearly didn’t make it.
Oscar, a physician, was the one who saved Hector’s life and later took him in.
Back then, Hector couldn’t remember much. His memory didn’t start returning until after he’d graduated from aerospace engineering school and begun working at the space agency.
He ran into Harold completely by chance one day–and that was when everything from the past finally came back to him.
He also remembered the moment Harold and Harvey had shielded Claudia with their own bodies. That was how he knew she had survived.
But everything had happened so fast back then. Harold never saw him.
And after that, Hector never got the chance to track Harold down.
Later, he returned to work at the research base and stayed there for a long time without leaving.
When Natalie gave birth, he happened to be back in town–and that was also when he found out what the Bowman family had done to Claudia.
He was the one who sent those text messages, right before re–entering the secure facility. Worried that the shock might be too much for Claudia, he chose not to reveal himself.
That was also why Harold could never trace the phone number.
After that, the Lawson family began keeping an eye on Claudia for Hector’s sake, making sure she was alright.
So on Claudia’s wedding day, Natalie showed up with the baby.
Natalie was still concerned about whether Claudia had fully recovered, so she simply dropped by to send a wedding gift.
She’d asked Harvey about how Claudia had been doing lately, figuring that if Claudia was really okay, she’d reach out sooner or later.
That morning, she’d asked her parents to prepare a meal, hoping Claudia would come by.
And Claudia did.
That way, Hector could finally rest easy.
The whole situation had been weighing on him for months–Natalie had been worried too.
After the meal, Claudia followed Natalie into Hector’s study.
On the wall hung several photos of him with the Bowman family.
“When is he coming back?” Claudia asked softly, her eyes fixed on Hector’s picture.
The Hector who had once pulled her from the water–his face was now perfectly clear in her mind.
He was tall, noticeably taller than Natalie, almost the same height as Harold.
His sharp features reminded her so much of her dad’s.
Natalie glanced at her. “His schedule is pretty irregular. He was in a rush this time too, but he left something for you.”
