Sweet Flash Marriage with the Restrained Tycoon (Isabelle and Damien) novel Chapter 904

Chapter 904 The Crash

Did all bosses just skip straight to the point?

No romance at all…

No flowers, no little surprises-how was he any different from that moocher Carson?

“I don’t want to…” she mumbled under her breath.

Truth was, she wasn’t even sure if she actually liked Harvey.

Harvey’s ears flushed bright red. He’d actually been turned down.

Up front, Howard and the driver were trying-and failing-to hold back their laughter.

Talk about a role reversal-Harvey getting rejected.

Noticing Harvey staring at her lips just like he had the night before, Dolores quickly covered her mouth, worried he might try to kis: her right there in the car.

Harvey took a slow breath, steadying himself. “Doesn’t matter. Tomorrow I’m going straight to Amanda.”

Dolores almost laughed in frustration. “Harvey, forget your teacher-even if you went to the dean, or the university president, I still wouldn’t say yes!”

Howard and the driver couldn’t keep it together anymore. Watching these two argue was better than reality TV.

Harvey had no clue what he’d done wrong. She liked him too-he could tell.

Feeling awkward, he just picked up the sandwich Dolores had/handed him earlier and took a quiet bite.

So this was what rejection felt like.

Silence settled between them after that.

Dolores was wrestling with her own thoughts.

She’d always assumed Harvey saw her the same way he saw Henrietta-like a little sister.

That other possibility had never even crossed her mind.

To her, Harvey was still that protective older brother figure, the one she’d talk about nonstop every day after work.

Henrietta had once joked about her becoming a sister-in-law. Now Dolores wondered-had that been Harvey’s idea all along?

“Harvey, we’re really not a good match,” she finally said softly.

Harvey, still eating his sandwich, replied calmly, “How do you figure?”

“There’s a ten-year gap between us.”

“Nine years and nine months,” Harvey corrected, glancing over. “Not quite ten.”

Howard, riding shotgun, snorted with laughter.

What difference did three months really make?

Annoyed, Harvey tapped sharply on the partition glass.

Howard shut up instantly.

Even the driver stiffened, not daring to make a sound.

Dolores murmured, “It’s basically the same…”

“It’s not,” Harvey said quietly, finishing the last of his sandwich with a quiet sigh.

A faint smile touched Dolores’ lips.

Maybe Harvey did care about the age thing after all.

She was about to say something more to him when a massive semi-truck suddenly swerved into their lane, horn blaring.

Before Dolores could even process what was happening, Harvey threw himself over her.

He cupped her head in one hand, covered her ears with the other, and wrapped his whole body around hers like a shield.
