Chapter 907 Boardroom Showdown

“Yeah, that’s not your name on there. It’s your daughter’s.” Harold slid the file across the polished conference table. It came stop right in front of the man. “Funny how Cypher Group’s money ended up funding her startup. Did none of you catch that? out a dry laugh.

Harvey had originally called this shareholders’ meeting to address these very issues, but he hadn’t gotten around to it yet-s of the details were still being looked into. Today, Harold had done the digging for him.

“Harold! You just waltzed in here out of nowhere! Who do you think you are, calling the shots? one of the older shareholders snapped, face flushed.

Harold kept his tone casual. “Because Cypher Group carries the Cross family name. This whole company belongs to my family

The man looked like his blood pressure was spiking.

“Pack up your desk. I’m short on security today, otherwise I’d have them walk you out.” Harold’s warning was clear.

By then, the rest of the shareholders had quietly filed back into the room and taken their seats, one after another.

A faint smile touched Harold’s lips. “That’s more like it. If I’d had to ask twice, I would’ve gotten annoyed. Let’s get started.”

He propped his feet up on the table, flipping through the papers in his hand. He was just about to speak when the door opened Damian walked in, followed by Brian.

Brian was in slippers, trailing behind with a sleepy, unbothered look. Damian, in a sharp tailored suit, moved with purpose. The moment he entered, everyone in the room stood up.

Harold quickly swung his feet down, stubbed out his cigarette in an empty cup, and got to his feet, stepping aside. He offered a respectful nod. “Dad. Frank. Glad you could make it.”

Damian waved a hand in front of his face, dispersing the lingering smoke. “Who’s the genius smoking in the conference room? Can’t you read the ‘No Smoking’ sign on the damn door?”

No one uttered a word. All eyes shifted silently toward Harold.

Damian glanced toward the entrance and noticed the glass panel was shattered, the sign lying broken on the floor, amid glittering shards. He shot a sideways look. “What happened to my door?”

People exchanged glances, too uneasy to speak.

Harold chuckled lightly. “Must’ve been a stray cat. Ran right into it.”

Damian gave him a long look, then took the seat Harold pulled out for him. Once he was settled, everyone else sat down.

“Since when do we let strays wander into the building?” Damian said coldly. “What happened to professionalism?”

Harold nodded, playing the part of the dutiful son. “You’re right. I’ll keep a better eye out next time.”

“Next time?” Brian leaned back in his chair, glancing at Harold. “Next time you catch one, don’t let it go so easy. Back home, that’s good stew meat.”

“Frank’s got a point,” Harold replied smoothly.

“Let’s focus.” Damian gestured to Roger, who set a laptop open in front of him. “We’re taking on a major new project. I’ve sent the details to your phones. Look them over.”

He paused, scanning the room. “Harvey isn’t available right now, and I’m putting this project in the hands of my son here. If any you have concerns or suggestions, now’s the time to voice them.”

He leaned forward slightly. “I don’t care if this project turns a profit or not. If it loses money, that’s on me. And don’t worry-you dividends won’t be touched. This is about giving him real experience. This is the Cross family’s company, and he’ll be running it one day. No need to go easy on him for my sake.”
