Sweet Flash Marriage with the Restrained Tycoon (Isabelle and Damien) novel Chapter 923

Dolores stood before her bedroom mirror, whispering nervously to her own reflection.

Harvey had never been one to chase after looks. He'd attended plenty of high-profile galas and charity balls, rubbed shoulders with models and socialites—yet he never seemed the least bit interested.

At one point, Dolores had even wondered if he might be gay.

But now, standing here in this dress... Would it be too much to show up in front of him like this?

It felt almost like she was trying too hard.

Her expression fell again.

God, she was so nervous.

Harvey was supposed to pick her up in just over an hour, and here she was—already fully dressed, pacing back and forth across her room like a caged animal.

She couldn't sit still. Her fingers kept fidgeting, twisting around each other without her even realizing.

She didn't even know why she was this tense.

A part of her wished Harvey would arrive early—just to get it over with.

Across town, Harvey wasn't doing much better.

He stood in front of his own mirror, adjusting his tie for what felt like the tenth time.

In the living room, Harold sat on the couch with Zander, sharing a bowl of chips and whispering into the boy's ear.

"From now on, Dora is gonna be your uncle's wife. Next time you see her, you better call her Auntie, okay?"

"But 'Auntie' sounds so old," Zander complained, munching on a chip. "I like Dora better." He glanced toward Harvey. "Uncle Harvey, are you really marrying Dora?"

"Yeah." Harvey's voice was calm, but his hands weren't quite steady.

"So does that mean you're dating her?"

"Yeah."

"Are you gonna kiss her and sleep in the same bed too?"

"Yeah—" Harvey caught himself and paused. "I mean..."

He'd answered too quickly.

Zander grinned. "I wanna date someone too."

Harold chuckled and ruffled the boy's hair. "Better not say that kinda stuff in front of other people, kiddo. It's not polite, and you might get in trouble."

Zander immediately zipped his lips. "Okay, okay."

Harvey's ears grew warm. He shot Harold a look. "What are you teaching him?"

"Hey, kids say what they think. At least he's honest." Harold smirked. "So? Have you two... you know?"

Harvey just glared at him and didn't answer.

That afternoon, Damian had arranged for Amanda and Quentin to be picked up earlier, so by the time Harvey was ready to leave, only Dolores remained—waiting nervously by the front door.

She tugged her cashmere wrap a little tighter and glanced down the street toward the direction of Harvey's place.

Just then, Harold's SUV drove past her, slowing slightly.

Zander waved excitedly from the back seat. "Auntie!"

Dolores froze for a second.

Already?

That had to be Harold's doing.

She managed a slightly flustered smile as the car continued down the block.

But maybe... he knew exactly what he was doing.

Harvey smiled, gave her head a gentle pat, closed her door, and circled back to the driver's side.

Dolores was still admiring the flowers around her, her attention completely captivated.

Harvey watched her for a moment, then carefully pulled a slim satin ribbon tucked among the blooms and handed it to her.

Curious, Dolores took it and gently tugged.

From within the arrangement, she drew out a delicate necklace, its pendant catching the light—a sparkling oval-cut diamond.

"For me?" Her voice was barely a whisper, her lips parted in disbelief.

Since when had Harvey become so... romantic? How did he even know how to do something like this?

"For my fiancée," he said softly.

Harvey took the necklace and moved to fasten it around her neck.

Dolores leaned forward without being asked, her heart beating somewhere up in her throat.

His hands were warm and sure, and every brush of his fingers against her skin sent a quiet shiver through her.

She held her breath, trying to stay still, until she felt his hand gently graze her cheek.

"You look beautiful tonight," Harvey said, his lips curving as his eyes held hers.

"Only tonight?" she teased softly, finding her voice again.

He let out a low, warm laugh. "Every night."

After a pause, Dolores bit her lip, then asked quietly, "Harvey... after we're married, will you listen to me? Like, really listen?"

"As long as you don't run off with someone else," he replied, his gaze dropping briefly to her mouth, "and as long as it's legal... you've got my yes."
