Linara watched her mother storm off, her heart torn between belief and doubt.

Chloe burst into the master bedroom. Oberon was just stepping out of the bathroom when he saw his wife rushing in. He didn’t glance at her.

As she saw the scratches on Oberon’s body, her anger flared. How could he throw his daughter into hell and still dare to indulge himself elsewhere?
