Chapter 311 The Origin Of Linara
“You ruined me. You have to pay for giving me trauma and ruining my body.” David raged.
Oberon slapped him across the face.
But David wasn’t one to back down. The two men wrestled on the bed, punching and clawing at each other until both were battered and bruised. Their faces were swollen and bloodied.
David stormed off to confront Chrome Dome. However, when he heard that Jason had been there the previous night, his terror had silenced him.
“Your money will be fully refunded,” Chrome Dome said coldly. “You should count yourself lucky that the person in your bed last night wasn’t Seraphina. Otherwise, you’d not be here anymore.”
David broke out in a cold sweat. Relief washed over him as he shuddered at the thought. Thank god it wasn’t her.
Meanwhile, Linara and Oberon returned to the Whitewood Estate in heavy silence.
Chloe greeted them with a warm smile as they entered. “You’re back. Honey, what happened to your face?”
“It’s none of your business.” Oberon brushed past her and strode upstairs.
Linara didn’t spare Chloe a glance as she stormed upstairs as well.
Something’s wrong. What happened at the banquet last night? Chloe furrowed her brows. That’s right. Where’s Seraphina? Why isn’t that brat home yet?
She followed them upstairs with unease. She stopped at Linara’s door and knocked.
There was no response.
Concerned, she pushed the door open.
The room was empty, but the sound of running water echoed from the bathroom. Beneath it, faint sobs drifted out.
Chloe’s heart clenched. She hurried to the bathroom door. “Linara, what’s wrong?”
“Get out!” Linara screamed. Her voice was thick with tears and hatred.
Chloe’s anxiety deepened. “Linara, what happened? Talk to me.”

Linara stood under the shower, her eyes were red and swollen from crying. Tears mingled with the water streaming down her face as she scrubbed her body raw. Her hands moved frantically as though she was trying to scrub her skin off.
Chloe pushed the door open. She froze in horror as she saw the scene.
Bruises and welts covered Linara’s pale body. As a woman who had seen the world, Chloe instantly understood what had happened.

“What happened? Who did this?” Her voice trembled with rage.
Linara let out a bitter laugh. “Stop acting like a fool! Isn’t this exactly what you wanted? You sold me for money! I’m not even your real daughter, after all!”
Chloe’s heart shattered. She rushed forward and pulled Linara into her arms. “Linara, this is my fault. I failed to protect you. I’m so sorry.”
Linara sneered, “Hmph. You’re supposed to be my mom.”
Chloe’s composure broke. “You’re wrong, Linara! You’re my daughter. I carried you in my womb for ten months. How could I ever do something so cruel to you?”
Linara froze. “What did you just say? I’m your daughter? What about Seraphina? Who is she?”
Chloe averted her gaze. “You don’t need to know. The only thing that matters is that I’m your mother. In this family, you and I are the only ones who truly matter. The rest are nothing to us.”
Linara’s world spun out of control.
Moments later, a hollow laugh escaped her lips. “You’re lying! You’re just trying to make me obedient, so I’ll keep making money for the Whitewood Family.”
“No, that’s not it. I would never make you suffer. I’m going to deal with that b*stard now.” Chloe let go of her hand and stormed out of the room.
