The Alpha Who Never Loved Me (Serena and Kieran) novel Chapter 173

Chapter 173

Serena

I watched Kieran lead Sophie away through the crowd, her hand at his arm, in the presence of everyone, he had defended her from his own sister and showed everyone that to him, she came first.

It was a sort of devotion that was both stupid and cute. If he had taken my emotions into any form of consideration, perhaps all of this wouldn’t be happening.

The women around me were all filled with anger, I could not tell if it was because of the fact that we haven’t found any conducive place to play but also because they had experienced Kieran do such a thing in front of everyone. They were going through the same thing in their marriages, one way or another just embarrassments.

Seeing that Kieran was open about it and he was the only man that they could have their hands on, they were quick to jump in.

“Alpha Kieran is so weird, many men cheat on throw wiges with women who might rival their wives i looks or they would want you on but he actually wont to be with someone who was not only ugly but was older than his wife.” She shook her head. “It’s disgusting honestly.

“Yeah, the least he could do was hide it from the world and not just show it.”

“We need to find where to play.” I said, trying to steer the conversation away from what she had seen.

The room we’d been in had too much foot traffic and someone kept interrupting, so when one of the women suggested the second floor I agreed before she finished the sentence.

I knew where Kieran had taken Sophie.

The second floor was where the bedrooms were. His room

was up there. And there was a pavilion at the far end of the landing that would work fine for games.

The pavilions was a great place for everyone to take over the world.

“You’re right.” One of the women said.

We moved toward the staircase.

I was three steps from the top when the door at the far end of the landing opened.

Kieran stepped out.

I stopped.

No tie. His collar was open, his hair pushed back and slightly out of order, nothing like it was downstairs when he walked away from me. He looked up and saw the group of us on the staircase. He stopped.

I thought about another time, when I put him in a situation like this, I had drugged him and he fought it. He was angry do weeks and made me regret it.

Tonight, I never drugged him and everything he did was on his own.

The door behind him opened and then Sophie stepped out from behind him.

She held his tie in one hand. She was no longer in the pink dress but was wearing a dark blue dress now, short and tight across the hips, the left sleeve hanging loose at the shoulder. It pulled in the wrong places and the fabric bunched at her hips where it was meant to lie flat. She had no curves for it to follow.

Irritation flowed within me.

I pressed my hand to the back of my mouth as tears filled my eyes.

One of the women behind me said, “What is happening here?”

Sophie’s head came up. “Kieran brought me upstairs because I needed to-”

“She came up here because her dress was ruined,” Kieran said. His eyes were on me. “That’s all that happened.”

“He forgot his tie up here,” Sophie said. She held it toward him. He took it without looking at her.

“Serena,” he said. “It’s not what you think.”

I looked away from him as tears fell from my eyes.
