Chapter 109
Bella
But then I heard it, faint at first, he was laughing too, and I stopped.
Clair
He kept laughing for a bit, then abruptly stopped and looked over at me. “Do you know,” he said
still staring straight at me, “you were r***d too, by Snipe.” The moment that name left his mouth,
my expression changed.
He knows Snipe. Was Snipe the one who gave him my information, told him where to find me? And
did he just say Snipe r***d me? He’s lying. This guy is a liar, his little tricks won’t work on me.
“Oh please, none of that ever happened,” I said, my voice sharp and confident. “Once my father finds me, you’ll be done for.” The moment those words left my mouth, he laughed again. I hated it, I
always have the last laugh.
I had been lying down, but I slowly pushed myself up to sit since my legs were useless. He
crouched low, keeping his eyes locked on mine. “You’re a twenty-eight-year-old woman who still
thinks she’s in her early twenties,” he said coldly. “Your father’s jewel. But the truth is, your father
sold you.” I blinked fast. That wasn’t possible, he was speaking nonsense.
“And here, Bella,” he continued, standing tall as his eyes stayed on me, “is your hell.” He turned toward the door. “Come in,” he called, and two hefty men entered the room. I glanced from him to
them, my heartbeat quickening.
“Thank you for telling me what you really did to Cherry,” he said, his voice hard as stone. “Now I won’t feel guilty when I unleash hell on you.” Then he turned to the men. “Drag her out of here,
straight to the attic.”
The words had barely left his mouth before they came toward me. “Don’t touch me!” I screamed,
but they didn’t stop. “I said don’t touch me!” I shouted again, struggling against them as much as I
could. One of them slapped me so hard my vision blurred. Before I could even process what was
happening, they grabbed me and dragged me across the cold floor, my useless legs trailing behind.
me, my upper body hitting hard against the tiles.
“You bastards!” I screamed. “You’ll pay for this! My father will make you pay!” But they didn’t care. And he just stood there, watching as they dragged me out of the room like some animal.
I had never been humiliated this much in my entire life.
Soon enough we reached the attic and they tossed me inside a room and quickly closed the door. I
coughed and looked around; there was a tiny bed, a table and a chair, and in the far corner a filthy
toilet.

Chapter 109
That was all the room held. There was no light, no air conditioning, the only light that came in
filtered through a small window set high above the ground, far out of reach.
Seeing the sight, I hiccupped. I dragged myself across the floor to the door and tried to open it, but it wouldn’t budge, they’d locked it from the outside. I banged on the wood. “Let me out! Let me out,
you prick!” I shouted, but no one answered.
I looked around again. The place was musty and dusty, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years; the smell clung to everything. Slowly, horror dawned on me: this wasn’t a room, it was a cell.
“Get me out of here!” I cried, pounding until my hands ached. I called and called, barked and screamed, but there was nothing from the other side. How could he treat his mate like this? The thought seared me. Rage flared hot and fierce, I swore, then and there, that I would make him pay.
I called until my voice gave out, until every ounce of strength drained from me. The day had faded completely, and now darkness crept in, swallowing the little light that had been left. He couldn’t possibly be serious about leaving me here… could he?
I looked around; the room was pitch-black now, and my chest tightened. I had always hated the dark, it made me feel small, powerless. But this… this hole was worse. I swallowed hard as fear slowly consumed me from the inside out.
“Anyone?” I managed to whisper, my voice trembling, barely recognizable. Panic set in. My eyes darted wildly around, searching for light, for movement, for anything. My breathing turned shallow; I gasped for air, but the air felt heavy, suffocating. How long was he planning to keep me here? Was this his way of proving a point?
Okay, maybe I had gone too far. Maybe telling him what I did to Cherry was too much, but that girl was already dead, and she wasn’t the only one. There had been others before her and after her. So why hold grudges over something that couldn’t be undone?
I wanted to get out of here. I wanted to believe this was just some cruel dream. Maybe if I closed my eyes long enough, I’d wake up back in my palace, in my soft bed surrounded by my maids. So I did, I shut my eyes tight, refusing to believe this reality. But when I opened them again… there was only darkness.
This wasn’t a dream. The truth hit me like a cold slap, and tears streamed down my face, hot and
unstoppable. “Dad… Dad, please… where are you? Are you coming?” I whispered to myself, my
voice cracking.
It couldn’t be true, that I had lost my memory, that my father had sold me, that the reason I couldn’t
walk was because of Osborne. No. It was all lies. Dylan was a liar. A manipulator. He had to be.

Chapter 109
If I said I wasn’t shocked by how cruel she was, I’d be lying, the expression she wore when she described Cherry being r***d by the men she hired still haunts me.
Clary
She looked like a monster. If she ever saw her face in the mirror, she’d be terrified, because I was, but I had to stay calm. At first I’d planned something gentler for her, but at the last moment I
