The Alpha's Chubby Obsession. novel Chapter 234

Book 2:Chapter 16-2

“Who among your colleagues is the werewolf?” she asked.

“Mrs. Lucy, my supervisor,” I replied.

She blinked, then nodded slowly. “Those people-or packs, as they call themselves-Idara, please

don’t get involved with them,” she said, her voice almost pleading.

Lowering my voice, I asked, “But Mom… how did you know about them?”

She looked at me like she didn’t want to talk about it at all. Her breathing turned uneven, frantic.

Because I once dated one,” she said.

I froze. “You did?” I asked before I could stop myself.

“Yes,” she said, swallowing hard. Her complexion had gone pale. “There are many of them here- everywhere in the world, actually. They know how to hide it very well.” She paused, then fixed her gaze on me. “So tell me, how did you know your supervisor is a werewolf?”

My eyes widened.

What lie was I supposed to tell her now? I couldn’t believe that after spending hours on the internet searching for answers, the truth had been sitting right in front of me-my own mother.

“Because someone told me,” I said.

She looked confused by that. “Who told you?” she asked.

I looked straight into her eyes. “My boss-the CEO. Mr. Chester.”

She frowned slightly, staring at me. “And what kind of relationship do you have with Mr. Chester for

him to tell you something like that?” Her voice was clipped.

I sighed, biting down on my lip, and that was when her eyes widened.

“No… don’t tell me, Idara,” she said.

What exactly was she thinking?

“Is he also a werewolf? Mr. Chester?” she asked, perplexed.

I nodded. “Yes. And they call him Alpha.”

Immediately she stood up, her mouth parting slightly as she blinked rapidly. “Do you even know

what an Alpha means in their world?” she asked.

I shook my head. “It means their ruler-the one in command,” she said.

That didn’t surprise me much, considering the way Mrs Lucy had treated him, with a kind of

reverence, almost like a deity.

“Tell me everything, Idara. Do not keep me in the dark,” her voice came out hard enough that I flinched.

This was the first time I had ever seen this expression on my mother’s face.

I opened my mouth and said, “Because he calls me his mate.”

My mother took a step back.

She looked like all her life had drained out of her.

I stood up too and moved toward her. “Mom, are you okay? Is it really that bad?”

The way she looked was beginning to scare me, and my heart started pounding harder than usual

“You don’t understand, Idara,” she said sharply. “Those people are monsters. You cannot be mated

to one of them.”

Her voice hardened. “You must reject him, Idara. You should have nothing to do with them.”

“Reject him?” I asked.

She nodded quickly. “Yes. You can reject the bond. Once you do, you will no longer be tied to him. I

won’t allow you to put your life in danger,” she said, her breathing frantic. “You are the only one I

have.”

I nodded sharply.

“And do you even know what it means to be mated to their Alpha?” she continued.

I shook my head.

“It means you’ll be expected to give him an heir-a monster like him,” she said. “And because you’re human, you could die during childbirth.”

I jerked back at her words.

“Okay, Mom. I’ll reject him,” I said quickly.

She looked away, but then I spoke again. “But-

She turned back to me.

“He… um… he actually bit me on the neck.”

The moment the words left my mouth, she froze where she stood, her shoulders sagging, her face
