“Maybe Eleanor had a son for Julio?” I said. I’m not sure, but something tells me that child might actually be hers. I know it sounds ridiculous, there’s no record of Eleanor ever being pregnant, and.

no one ever mentioned it, but we can’t completely rule it out.

Her uncle Calisto is desperate for her to become Luna, no matter what it takes. And if there’s one

thing I’ve learned, it’s that people, especially someone like Julio, can be manipulated or pressured when a pregnancy is involved.

There was a long silence on the other end of the line.

“I’ll look into it, Helio,” she finally said. “Honestly, I doubt that child is hers. If he were, knowing

Eleanor, she would have made sure the whole world knew she’d given Julio an heir by now. Still… your gut feeling might be onto something. I’ll check.”

I let out a quiet “yeah” before the line went quiet again.

I set my phone down on the table, my thoughts spinning in every direction. I can’t just sit back and rely on Danae alone. While she digs into this, I’ll hire a private investigator-someone completely outside our world. Not a werewolf, not anyone from around here, but someone who already knows

our kind exists.

Looks like I’ll be taking a little trip.

My legs gave out completely. I collapsed to the floor, body trembling, mind blank except for the

numbness spreading through me. Tears poured down my face without permission.

I still clutched the file like it might burn me if I let go. I couldn’t make myself open it. I didn’t want

any of this to be real.

All those nights he didn’t come home, the endless late hours-I’d had my suspicions. I just never let

them settle. I kept pushing the thoughts away, convincing myself it was paranoia, my own imagination running wild. But deep down I knew I was lying to myself.

And now… hearing it from someone who looked exactly like him, someone who could have been his mirror, it felt like Julio himself was standing in front of me, confessing. The pain hit harder than anything I could have prepared for.

So he hadn’t just cheated. He had children. Children with three different women. Another son somewhere out there, one who might one day come for what belongs to my son.

That thought sliced through the grief. I wouldn’t allow it.

My eyes dropped to the file I’d been avoiding. I forced myself to open it, to read, to look. Tears kept falling, smudging ink, blurring edges, but the evidence was unmistakable. The photographs stared back at me: his daughters. They looked like female versions of Julian. The resemblance was

undeniable.

My fingers tightened around the pages until the paper creased. For a second I wondered, could this be Helio’s doing? Could these be his children, planted here as part of some twisted scheme to

claim they were Julio’s?

But no. Helio had barely spent time in this house over the years. Also the timeline didn’t fit. Their ages didn’t line up with the time he took over the pack, Julio was still alive when the kids were born. These weren’t Helio’s. These were Julio’s children. My husband’s children.

Still… there was no picture of the son. Only the mention of him. No name, no mother, no proof. Just the quiet, dangerous fact that he existed.

Who was he? Who was his mother? There was nothing-nothing at all.

I would find out. Every detail. I refused to let my son grow up only to face a hidden threat when the

time came for him to take his place as Alpha.

But even as anger flared, the tears wouldn’t stop.

Julio had broken me long before today. And now he was gone, carrying every secret, every betrayal, every lie with him into the ground-leaving me to clean up the wreckage.

I pushed myself up from the floor and scrubbed the tears from my face with the back of my hand. I don’t trust Helio-not even a little. I have no idea what game he’s playing or what he’s hiding up his

sleeve, but one thing I’m certain of:

He loves Julian like his own son. He wants my son to take the Alpha title after him.

That means I’ll work with him however I can. This is about Julian’s future. That other son of Julio’s

-wherever he is, needs to be found. I will not let anyone come for what rightfully belongs to my

boy.

The file slipped from my fingers and hit the floor with a soft thud.

“Jules,” I called.

My most trusted maid appeared almost instantly, head already bowed in respect. “Luna, you called

for me?”

I turned to face her fully.

“Have you ever heard anything about my late husband’s… affairs?”

Jules has been with me long enough to know the truth not many do-that the man who rules

currently is not Julio, but his twin, I had told her.

She lifted her eyes to meet mine for just a second before they flickered away, startled. “Rumors have always floated around, ma’am,” she said carefully. “But… why bring it up now?”

I swallowed hard, forcing my voice to stay level.

“Because that dead bastard fathered children. And one of them is a son.”
