The moment I arrived at the council meeting, everyone was already present-except Calisto and his niece.

Imagine an Alpha calling for a meeting and those two still arriving late. If this had been the past, probably wouldn’t have had the courage to do anything about it. But things have changed now.

I am no longer the Helio they once knew.

“And where are Calisto and Eleanor?” I asked immediately as I took my seat, scanning the room.

Mario was the first to stand and speak. This time, however, there was respect in his tone, especially after our little confrontation the other day.

“Sorry, Alpha. They are a bit late, but they should be here shortly,” he said with his head slightly

bowed.

“Are you his spokesperson?” I asked calmly.

The room fell quiet as the others glanced at one another.

“I’ll ask again,” I said slowly. “Are you his spokesperson, Mario?”

He shook his head quickly.

“No, Alpha. I only spoke because I didn’t want your question to go unanswered.”

I studied him for a moment before speaking again.

“Sit down, Mario.”

He obeyed immediately, and I could see the others shifting uncomfortably in their seats. They had finally realized that going against me now would not end well.

And I was beginning to enjoy this new power of mine.

“The meeting will not begin without Calisto and Eleanor present,” I continued. “So remember that any delay in this meeting is entirely because of them.”

Just as I finished speaking, the doors opened.

And in walked the two people I had been waiting for.

They entered the room as if the entire world had been waiting for their arrival. Just as they were about to take their seats, I released my Alpha power.

< Book 2 Chapter 44 “Remain standing.”

My command echoed through the room like thunder.

Gasps broke out among the council members.

“Silence,” I ordered.

The room instantly fell quiet.

Calisto and Eleanor remained standing where they were.

“What is the meaning of this, Helio?” Calisto demanded.

A low growl rumbled from my chest.

“You will not speak my name without respect,” I barked.

Yet even then, the arrogant man dared to challenge me.

“You are no Alpha, Helio,” he sneered. “It seems you have forgotten that you are merely a

substitute.”

Some of the council members even nodded in agreement with him.

I smiled faintly.

“That’s good, Calisto. I’m glad to hear you acknowledge that I am a substitute Alpha,” I began calmly. “Because I believe the entire pack deserves to know about it as well.”

Murmurs immediately broke out around the room.

Still, Calisto remained completely unfazed.

Then he laughed.

Eleanor stood beside him, smiling as well.

“What?” he said mockingly. “Do you think I’m afraid of you? If you want the pack to know, then go

ahead. That is your choice.”

He shook his head as if I were foolish.

“They will come after you. You, the imposter.”

Now it was my turn to laugh.

A deep, guttural laugh escaped me, echoing through the chamber until the room grew silent once

more.

“You have far more to lose than I do,” I said, my laughter fading. “Should I remind you of that?”

“The Alpha title will never pass to your bloodline, Calisto,” I continued. “A bastard will never become Alpha.”

As I said those words, I turned my gaze toward Eleanor.

Her eyes widened.

Then I shifted my attention back to Calisto. If looks could kill, I would have already been dead.

“The game you think you’re playing, Calisto,” I said slowly, “I already know every part of it.”

Then I turned to face the rest of the council.

Before I could continue, Eleanor’s voice suddenly cut through the room.

“What do you think you’re doing?”

Her fists were clenched tightly at her sides.

“Do you even know what you are about to unleash?” Eleanor asked, already breathing heavily.

“Soon, Eleanor,” I replied calmly. “As the Alpha, I will pass judgment. For now, you will stand there and take it all in-just as I have done all those years.”

Her eyes flickered for a moment.

“You will regret what you are about to do,” Calisto spoke again.

I shook my head.

“No. I won’t. Not even a little.”

I turned back to the council members.

“The pack will be told the truth about their Alpha’s death,” I said firmly. “And they will learn that they

have been deceived all these years by the council of elders.”

Disdain immediately appeared on several of their faces,

“But if that happens, they will never believe anything we say again,” one of them spoke up

nervously. “Our authority will be questioned.”

“As it should be,” I replied coldly.

They clearly did not like that answer.

I turned to the man who had spoken.

“For pointing that out,” I said slowly, watching as sweat began forming on his forehead, “you will be

the one to break the news to the entire pack.”

The color drained from his face instantly.

“Am I understood?” I asked.

He swallowed hard.

“Yes… Alpha Helio,” he replied.

A small smile spread across my face.

“Now, to the real reason I called this meeting,” I continued, shifting my gaze toward uncle and

niece.
