Chapter 60
Clarry
1 wiped away my tears, feeling unsettled. I shouldn’t have been the one to see the Alpha like this-so broken, so stripped of strength. The apology wasn’t mine to accept anyway. That belonged to my
mother.
“I don’t hold a grudge against you,” I said at last, “but you should make things right with my mom. I’ll
also let Luna know I’m not upset.”
He lifted his head, and though I couldn’t meet his eyes, I kept mine lowered.
“Thank you,” he murmured.
I rose and gave him a bow. “Have you eaten?”
He gave a faint chuckle. “I will.”
“Alright then, I’ll have someone bring your breakfast. For now, I’ll excuse myself.” With another bow, I slipped out.
That conversation had been a whirlwind.
In the hall, I stopped a maid. “Yes, ma’am?” she asked quickly.
“Tell the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the Alpha and take it to his study,” I instructed.
She hurried off, and I continued to the dining room. Osborne’s scent reached me before I even stepped in. When he saw me, he stood at once.
“I went to our room earlier, but you weren’t there,” he said.
“Yes, I was with your father.”
He came over, kissed me lightly, then asked, “My mother will join us soon. So… how did it go?”
“It went well,” I answered with a smile.
He studied me strangely for a moment but stayed quiet,
As we began to eat, I added, “My mom called-she’s coming over. I should probably finish eating breakfast quickly.”
He smirked. “Or she could wait. After all, we weren’t even supposed to be here.”
That made me laugh softly, because he was right. He’d promised our honeymoon would be on the island he owned in another pack, not here. And honestly, I wanted that more than ever. I’d never
really left this territory before, except for school excursions-always chaperoned, never free.

The Luna entered then, greeting us. “Good morning.”
“Good morning,” I replied, chuckling. “By the way, I’m not angry. He already apologized.”
She burst out laughing. “Alright then.”
Osborne looked at the two of us, baffled. “Why exactly did you have to tell her that?”
Clair
I didn’t answer, but his mother did. “Because I told your father that if Aina forgave him for what he
did to her mother, then I would forgive him too-for having a child he never knew about.”
The table went quiet after that, the weight of her words sinking in.
“Yesterday was such a long day,” she finally said.
“Indeed,” Osborne replied.
“And my mother-in-law will be here too,” Osborne added.
The Luna nodded. I only hoped things went smoothly. Because if my mother was coming, I knew she wouldn’t come alone. She’d likely bring my father, but one thing came to mind then, Bella had
said the daughter in question was here.
Right after breakfast, my phone rang. It was my mother. “We’re here at the entrance,” she said.
I stood up instantly, Osborne rising with me-he had overheard, the Luna had left already so it was
just the two of us.
“I wanted her to explain,” I admitted softly, “but now that I’ve spoken with your dad, I’m not sure I
want to hear more.”
I paused, chewing over my own words.
“But she knows she owes you an explanation too,” Osborne added gently.
I nodded. He was right.
We stepped outside just as my father’s car pulled up. The doors opened, and first my father and mother emerged. Then the back door opened, and a woman stepped out.
Tall. Slender.
My breath caught, my chest tightening. But what startled me most was how quickly Osborne’s
attention snapped to her-fixed, unblinking.
As she turned to face us, I froze.
“You gotta be kidding me,” Osborne muttered, and was that… excitement in his voice?

Clair
It was impossible to deny-she was the female version of Alpha Owen. I’d always believed Osborne resembled his father, but standing here now, he didn’t come close.
Her eyes found us, steady and searching, and I had to tear my own gaze away. My focus shifted to my mother-my strong, unshakable mother-except now she looked nothing like the woman I knew.
Weak. Tired.
I had never seen her like this.
Clearly, Bella’s little stunt had ripped open wounds my mother had long buried. And I couldn’t help
but wonder-how was she truly feeling now?
They all walked up to us and Osborne stepped forward first.
“Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred, welcome,” he said with a smile, then his gaze shifted to her.
“Hi, welcome to our pack,” he added, and she gave a small smile. “Thank you.”
I was still staring at her, still stunned by how much she looked like the Alpha in female form.
Then my eyes drifted, and I caught sight of the Luna. Her gaze was fixed on the woman too, wide with shock on how she resembles her husband. In that moment, there was no denying it-my
mother had truly borne a child with Alpha Owen.
“Mom,” I called, and when she looked at me, the words slipped out,
“You look like shit.”
