“Get in the car Ms. Edmund.” He snaps at me and I’m just about to tell him that I would rather walk on hot coals than get in the car with him, but when I see the look in his face, I decide to swallow my words.
He had that stern look on his face as he looked at me with his profound, unfathomable eyes.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea. I don’t want to trouble you Alpha Bowers, I know that you’re a very busy man. I’m pretty sure there’s another driver that can take me home.” I tell him and I make sure to put a smile on my face and my tone comes out as cordial, I have spent more than enough time in his presence and all it does is confuse me, I need to get back home.
“No, I’m sorry Ms. Edmund but there aren’t any other drivers.” He says to me.
“Well, that can’t be possible, what of he guy that took me back home the last time I was here?” I ask him and he let’s out a frustrated sigh.
“Ms. Edmund, do you take me for a liar?” He asks me.
“No, of course not Alpha Bowers, that’s not what I meant.” I tell him even though I do suspect that he is lying.
“Because of the storm last night, most of he staff haven’t come in yet, I told them to take care of their homes first. So are you going to come in or are you going to continue asking these unnecessary questions?” He snaps at me.
Well, it looks like I did not have a choice and after what happened last night, this was the last place that I wanted to be. I knew that the atmosphere would be awkward, but I didn’t really have a choice. The Blood Moon pack is sequestered off in the mountains and theres no way I’ll be able to get a cab.
Seeing that I had no othet options, I turned around and headed to the front passenger seat.
I got inside and I just stared out the window, I didn’t want to look at him, my body and my wolf always turn on me whenever I look into his eyes, but then after a couple of seconds, we are just sitting in the car and he has not moved.
“Are we waiting for someone?” I ask him, but I don’t look at him. I hear movement and the next thing I know, I feel his muscular body getting closer to me shortening the distance between us to approximately three centimeters and I had no choice than to look up at him to see what was going on.

He fixed his lustrous gaze on me as he continued to approach me. What the hell is happening? Is he about to kiss me again?
The scene reminded me of the dream I had last night. He claims that I’m the one trying to seduce him but he’s the one that keeps putting us in these situations.
Simmering with anger, I blurted out, “What are you doing, Alpha Bowers?”
Instead of explaining himself, he narrowed his eyes at me and buckled my seat belt for me.
After he was done, I could see the smirk on his face because I had clearly read the situation wrongly. I felt so embarrassed and I could feel my face heating up.
Oh Natalie, why do I always have to embarrass myself in front of him. I grabbed the seat belt in
my hand and then I looked out the window as he finally drove out of the driveway.
Both times I’ve been here, I was here in a rush and I didn’t have the time to admire the beauty of this place, I mean his territory is so huge that it could contain ten packs and still have space for more. All the land here belongs to Blood Moon Pack.
The drive was going smoothly until we got to the highway and now the car was stuck in a jam as it was rush hour.
Resting my head on my hand, I glanced out of the window as I never played with my phone while I was in the car, I did that to show the kids that it was wrong and eventually, I got used to
All of a sudden, Samuel’s phone rang and broke the silence.
When he picked up the call, I could hear voice of a man on the other end.
Initially, I thought that the call might be from Yara. After realizing that the caller was a man, I lost interest.
But after a few minutes, my curiosity got thr better of me, so I used my wolf hearing to listen in on their conversation. To my disappointment, all they were talking about was work. Up to this point, I had no more interest in them.
The call was from his Beta Mark, I was shocked because usually when there are two sons in a pack, the first son is the Alpha, while the second becomes the Beta. So why wasn’t Steven his Beta?
Didn’t he trust his own brother?
I mean he trusted him with his kids but not the pack?

I really wasn’t interested in the call until I heard Moon Shadow Pack and my father’s name
come up.
All this time had gone by and all I had for that man was hate and resentment. He never loved me, he just saw me as a chess piece that he could move around.
From what I was hearing, apparently my father has been trying to get in touch with Samuel about some land that he just recently purchase from Alpha Killian.
“I do not know what Alpha Thomas issue is, he didn’t even show any interest in that land until I got it. If he really wanted it, then he should’ve gone to Alpha Killian himself.” Samuel says as he let’s out a frustrated sigh.
“He’s hoping your personal relationship will help him here.” Mark says on the other side of the phone.
Personal relationship? What kind of personal relationship does Samuel have with my Does it have to do with Yara?
father?
“That isn’t going to work here, I got that land fair and square, if he keeps calling because of that, just tell him that I’m busy, either he’ll get tired and stop or he’ll come over and talk to me himself and then I’ll tell him to his face that I’m not giving it to him.” Samuel says matter of factly.
“Also, I need you to check in on Alpha Killian, I know that Steven is a good negotiator but him selling that land, I don’t know, I just feel that something is wrong. Can you check in on him?” Samuel asks.
“Alright then, I’ll talk to you later.” He says and then he hangs up the call.
Well, so my father wants a piece of land that Samuel has and the both of them also have some kind of personal relationship?
This is good information and I’ll have Theo look at it once I get back home.
Not long after, we arrived at the entrance of my house.
Samuel took a glimpse of me and asked casually, “Aren’t you inviting me upstairs?”
Taken aback by the sudden question, I felt my heart skip a beat. Then, I smiled and said, “I’m afraid not. My sweetheart is waiting for me at home.” I smirked at him.
Immediately he got that cold look in his eyes again, what was his problem exactly?

Though it was not my intention to say the word “sweetheart” in a cheesy tone, it turned out to be quite cheesy due to the fact that I love my son. And it’s his fault for jumping to conclusions.
Samuel questioned me with an arrogant tone, “Why isn’t he working at this hour? Is he a stay- at–home boyfriend?”
“Watch your mouth, Alpha Bowers.” I snapped at him
“My sweetheart isn’t dependent on me. He’s the best, he takes care of me, he cooks for me. He’s a talented hacker and in the future, he’s sure to be the top hacker in the world.”
He didn’t look too happy with my answer.
