Chapter 35
Chapter 35
NATALIE
Natasha looked absolutely flabbergasted. “What are you trying to insult me? Do you know who I am? Do you know who my fiancé is?” She asks me
“No I do not and to be honest I don’t care, please take off your shoes, so we can find our if they’re original or not. Or don’t you agree officers?” I ask the police men.
“Yes you are right, Miss please take off your shoes.” The officer tells Natasha.
“I can’t believe this is happening right now, I mean she’s the one in the wrong, she stepped on my shoe.” She whines like a child.
“Yes I did and I apologised but that wasn’t enough for you, but I am not going to be swindled, so you either take off your shoe or I walk away.” I tell her and I mean it.
She huffs but she finally raises up her left leg and takes off he shoe and she hands it over to me, I turn it to the back and it’s just as I thought, no serial number, I guess she never bothered to check, she just believed her fiance.
“Here officer, it’s just as I thought, no serial number.” I tell them as I hand them the shoe.
“No, that’s not possible, she must have done something to it.” Natasha screechés as she takes the shoe back from the officer to look at it herself.
“Miss, we can arrest you for this, you’re trying to con this woman and that is a crime.” The officer tells her.
“I would never do something like that officer you know me, you know my father and you know my fiancée, we are rich so why would I try to con this woman?” She asks them and she looks very close to tears.
“I don’t know, maybe you get a thrill from it.” The officer tells her.
“No, I don’t….” Her voice goes up an octave and I can tell that she is ready to cry, I guess she never saw this not going her way. I’m pretty sure she thought the officers would come in here and disgrace me, because I’m so ordinary looking there’s no way that I’ll have the money.
“It’s ok officers, I’m sure she didn’t mean to. How much are the shoes?” I ask Natasha and she looks confused.
“What’s your game here lady? I mean you’ve already embarrassed me.” She says.

“I didn’t embarrass you, you did that to yourself, if you had just accepted my apology and didn’t call the police, all this would’ve ended. But I want to save you
from any
future embarrassment, so tell me the real price of the original shoe and I’ll send it to you. I tell her.
Instead of her to say no or that she’s sorry for the trouble that she has caused, she laughs instead. “This is a limited edition Ada, you can’t afford it,” She scoffs at me.
“And clearly neither can you, so how about you tell me the price first.” I tell her.
“Whatever, it’s three hundred thousand dollars.” She says and she is not lying, that it the price.
“Give me your bank card.” I tell her
“What?” She asks, looking confused and shocked.
“Let me see.” I tell her as I stretch out my hand.
“Fine. Here.” She huffs.
Natasha takes out her bank card and shows it to me for just a few moments, before putting it back inside her designer bag, that one does look original at least.
I got what I needed from her card and I remained silent as I tapped my pale fingers on my phone screen.
Ding!
I looked up lazily, tired of this whole interaction. “Please check your messages. You should have received the money.” I say to her.
“What?”
Natasha’s voice raised an octave higher. She stared back in disbelief.
“What the… Are you being pretentious? T–this isn’t possible!”
I didn’t take her mockery seriously, I mean I expected it, she was the one carrying a fake bag but I was the one that wasn’t believable.
Xavier spoke up. “What’s not possible? Instead of blabbering so much, just check your phone to see if my Mommy transferred the money.”
Onlookers gradually gathered around.
“She already said she transferred the money. Just check it!” Clayton pipes up.

“Who’s the one putting up an act now?”
“It’s going to be so embarrassing if she really transferred the money!” I heard the Onlookers
say.
Natasha was the daughter of a wealthy family, her father was my father’s Beta and her family always wanted to be seen as above the average person. She never expected an average looking person like me to have that kind of money.
Huffing in anger, she took out her phone. “Let me check then! How long you can keep up with your lies?”
She opened up her notifications.
I could see the moment she saw the money, it was written all over her face, she had disbelief written over her face and she started to turn red out of embarrassment.
The text message notified her that she had received a total of three hundred thousand, not a penny more or less.
Everything happened too fast. Her complexion paled, and her voice trembled as she spoke. “H–How? W–Where did you get so much money?”
“You’ve already been compensated. For damages to a shoe that it worthless, so next time you don’t embarrass yourself. The heck asks where the money came from?”
“You…”
I didn’t give a fuck, I was going to pay her back in her own coin. I swept a glance at the high heels.
“Since I paid you every penny, you can take off your shoes now.”
“What do you mean?” Natasha stared at me with wide eyes.
“Come now, is that really that hard to understand?” Xavier tilted his head. His eyes were dark. “Mommy already paid for the shoes. So now she’s the owner! Aren’t you embarrassed to be wearing someone else’s shoes?” My sweet boy, always coming to my aid.
When Xavier spoke such ruthless words in his sickly sweet voice, Natasha was completely stunned.
It took a long time for Natasha to find her voice again. “How can you do this? If you take away my shoes, what am I going to wear?”

“What are you going to wear?” I responded casually but coldly, “What does that matter to met
“You! You’re shameless!”
“I’m shameless? My lips curved into a mocking smile. “You’re the one who had fake shoes on.
I glanced at the police officer beside me. “Officer, am I wrong for doing this?”
The officers thought about the context and replied carefully.
“Not at all.”
