Chapter 38
Alpha Samuel Bowers.
It can’t be possible, so she’s actually here in the same restaurant as I am and she’s here with her sweetheart. I feel rage unlike anything I’ve ever felt before rush through me and my wolf Axel isn’t happy about this either, he isn’t settled at all.
Yohan choked on his drink when he heard his name. “Excuse me, Steven Bowers. I’m ten times more handsome than you are.” He tells my brother, none of them aware of the internal battle that I’m fighting.
My brother was blissfully unaware of the tension in the air thickening and instead of answering my question, he just continued talking, “I mean for her to attract such a handsome guy with her mediocre look. This is witchcraft! Is that woman a witch?”
I couldn’t take it anymore, I had to see this for myself, I got up so last that my chair crashed to the ground and the table shook and I accidentally spilled the contents on the table.
Steven and Yohan were startled at the sound, when they got themselves back they both looked at me with worried expressions on thier faces. If there is one thing that I am known for, it is keeping my cool. I don’t lose control like this, but when it comes to Natalie, I can’t seem to control myself.
Yohan glanced at my brother, confusion and questions written on his face and then he looked at me. “Is something wrong Samuel?” He asks me.
Yes Yohan, somethingos wrong I have this woman who has somehow made her way under my skin and I can’t seem to stop thinking about her. I say that in my head though, I don’t say it
out.
Steven looked like he was also in a state of confusion as he stared at me. “I’m sorry Sam, was it something that I said?” He asks me.
I didn’t even answer him, I needed to get a look at this man before they decided to leave the
restaurant.
So I kicked the chair out of my way and I made my way towards the door.
Steven blurted out, “Where are you going, Sam?”
“Going to see if that man is really as handsome as you say he is,” I tell him as I puffed up my chest, I felt primal right now and I knew that was because at this moment I was more wolf than
man.

I looked back at my brother and Yohan and it was clear that they were so confused, but I did not have the time to explain myself, I mean I could not even explain it if I tried.
The door slammed shut behind me and I could feel my wolf coming to the surface. I leaned my back against the door and I took a few deep breaths and I could hear my brother and Yohan talking.
“Since when did your brother become this vain? I thought he didn’t like women?” Yohan asked
Steven.
“I have no idea.” Steven said.
“Didn’t you say that he had started caring about his looks?” Yohan asked.
“Yeah, he did. But not to that extent!”
“This could be something else.” Yohan said.
“Like what?” Steven asked.
I was tired of listening to them, my wolf was in control and so I made my way into the
restaurant.

The boys were having fun and I have to admit, I was too. I had just had a huge glass of iced tea and now I had to use the restroom.
“Ross, can you please keep an eye on the boys, I need to use the restroom.” I tell him.
“Yes sure, no problem.” He tells me and so I slide out of the booth and make my way to the restroom after asking for directions from one of the waiters.
The walk to the restroom was pretty long, considering it was at the end of a long corridor. However, I had only taken a few steps into it when a man rushed out of nowhere.
Just as I was about to collide with the man, a hand reached out and grabbed my waist, pulling me out of the way.
As my back was to the unknown person, I had no idea who this person was but at the same time he felt familiar and then I was hit with his scent, oak.
No, it can’t be.

My first instinct was to raise my elbow to hit the person behind me. But before I could even move, however, my elbow was stopped.
Both of our bodies were flush against each other and his scent was enveloping me, it can’t possibly be Samuel. I could literally feel the warmth radiating off him.
“Let me go.” I gritted my teeth and warned. “Do it before I hurt you.”
The arm that was on my waist pulled me closer to him, and the distance between us was closed.
“Are you sure about that?” his deep and velvety voice rang from behind me.
At that moment, I recognized the voice, and an image of its owner stiffened.
“Alpha Bowers?” So my guess was right the first time.

Just as the question left my lips, Samuel slowly spun me around to face him. Our position was now reversed, with me backed against the wall and Samuel hovering over me.
Our eyes met.
His eyes bore holes into mine with the intensity of his gaze.
I, on the other hand, stared back at him without a hint of fear. My eyes were filled with rage, letting him know how pissed I was.
“What are you trying to do, Alpha Bowers?”
“I’m helping,” he replied faintly as he placed his hands on both sides of my head. He continued to stare at her as he spoke. “Ms. Edmund, aren’t you supposed to thank me?”
“Thank… Thank you.”
But even after I had uttered my thanks, he was still unwilling to let me go. with an unknown expression.
His
eyes glinted
“The sweetheart you’ve been going on about is him?”
Had Samuel seen Xavier and Clayton?

But to my dismay, he had obviously misunderstood again. His hands curled into a fist when he heard my reply.
Thump! He hit the wall just a few inches away from my ear with his fists.
I widened my eyes in disbelief and looked at the furning Samuel in front of me.
Is he drunk? Or has he gone crazy?
What is he thinking? Does he even know that if that punch was directed at my face, the sheer force would likely shatter my bones to bits?
No something is wrong, I better clear up that misunderstanding now.
