Shawn’s eyes flickered slightly, and his cheeks were rosy red.

“I’m sorry that I’ve misunderstood you just now, Ms. Edmund.” His ardent gaze was fixated on me. “You saved my grandpa. I’ll remember your kindness forever.

Did he think that I was referring to him? Because I wasn’t, he was clearly the only person in this family that actually cared about his grandfather.

“There’s no need to remember it for so long, plus I wasn’t talking about you.” I tell him in a cool tone.

“Ms. Edmund, are you still blaming me for what I just said?” Shawn asked again.

“I’m not that petty.” I tell him and then I turn back to Alpha Watson.

I nodded politely at him. “Alpha Watson, I was entrusted by Mr. Jones to come and treat you. I hope that the Watson family can keep this matter a secret, as I don’t do public consultations.” I tell him.

I needed to keep a low profile, especially here in Delmoore.

Max nodded in response to my request.

I then put my crystal needles away and placed them in my shoulder bag.

“Alpha Watson I am an outsider and I do not presume to know anything about yout family but I am a doctor, a very good one and I can tell you how you got sick and then I’m sure that you’re smart enough to put the rest of the pieces together.” I tell him and he nods his head slowly.

“Good, now you were poisoned, you had two different toxins in your body, one of them being wolfsbane.” I tell him and immediately I can see the shock and anger on his face.

“Did you just say wolfsbane? Who would do that to me?” He asks and even though I already know the answer to that question, I do not give it.

“Yes wolfsbane, as for the who, only you can answer that question. All I can tell you is that whoever administered the wolfsbane was smart or working with someone pretty smart. It took me about a year to learn everything I could about wolfsbane, how to work with it, how to concentrate it, everything and I can tell you that it takes a very smart person to figure out the

“Alpha Watson, I’ll need your grandson to go with me to pick up the medicine. I’ll come by three days later for the next acupuncture.”

He forced a smile. “Thank you, Natalie.”

Shawn arranged for some trusted guards to stay at Alpha Watson’s side before going downstairs with me.

As we walked side by side, I could feel his gaze on me.

“You really don’t hate me for what I said?”

I halted my steps and teased, “I do.”

He looked dumbfounded, it was so funny. He clearly did not expect me to say

that.

It was probably his first time being teased like that. I chuckled uncontrollably as i watched him stand there with a helpless look on his face.

The culprit was none other than Chris‘ wife, Mandy.

However, she was not the least bit sorry for her actions. She swayed her waist and said

sarcastically, “I’m really sorry. My hands slipped and I accidentally splashed this leftover tea on your face.”

She covered her mouth and snickered, adding, “Aren’t you a doctor? I heard that leftover tea is effective in treating freckles. I wonder if my tea can help wash away the dirty freckles on your face?”

I am going to kill her.
