I wasn’t planning on doing this, but I really didn’t have a choice in the matter. But if there was a person that I could take my mask off in front of it was Shawn.

Even without comparison to the hyper–realistic mask, her face could be described as perfect

on its own.

“You…” I was short of words, I couldn’t believe it.

She turned and glanced at me lazily after hearing me gasp.

“You must be surprised.” She played with the hyper–realistic mask in her hand. “My expression was similar to yours when I first obtained this mask. However, this mask still has its drawbacks. Although it’s waterproof, it will wrinkle when met with slightly warm water, making it uncomfortable to wear.” She said to me.

My eyes were firmly drawn to her face. In fact, I found it hard to look away, she was alluring. “Why do you wear such an ugly mask when you’re this good–looking?” I asked her.

“There are countless people who want me dead.” She wiped her face with the tissue and stated nonchalantly, “I would be a living target if I walked around with my real face.”

This woman is only in her twenties, yet she speaks and behaves in an old–fashioned manner. A girl of her age should be living a carefree life, but she is being so cautious about everything.

“That’s not surprising,” I said slowly as I rested a finger under my jaw. It’s a good thing she rejected him because I would’ve done something very sinister if she didn’t.
