After I left Shawn, I don’t know why but I felt like someone was watching me but everytime I looked back to check, I didn’t see anyone. I was probably just being paranoid with everything that’s been happening. There’s Samuel and then running into Yara after all these years, plus this case that I cannot seem to crack.
I get into a taxi and then I give him my home addresses and he drives off, I take out my phone to call Theo but then I see a text from Yandel telling me that he’s alright and back at the office.
Note to Self: Never take Yandel when going for home visits.
I dial Theos number and is starts ringing and he picks up on like the fifth ring, I almost thought he wasn’t going to pick up.
“Natalie.” He calls my name with a sleepy voice.
“Theo, it’s five in the evening how are you still asleep?” I ask him.
“Shit, I didn’t know it was that late.” He exclaims but I can hear the slurinees in his voice.
“Were you partying last night?” I ask him in a stern tone.
“I was but it was for a good reason, I was finally able to track that code that had me stumped for months, the party was warranted.” He tells me.
“Fine.” I say because he’s right, I know how hard and how long he’s been working on that code.
“So were you able to find anything on my case?” I ask him.
“Yes actually I did, I’m not anywhere near my laptop right now, but I’ll find it and I’ll forward you everything that I found.” He tells me.
“Thank you so much Theo, get up, take a shower and get some coffee. Have you checked up on Ed?” I ask him, feeling bad that I haven’t seen him even though it’s really only being a month.
“Yeah, he partied with me last night.” He says.
“Theo!”
“I’m kidding, I’m kidding. But he is at my house, I figured it’s better if he just moved in with me that way it would be easier for me to keep an eye on him.” He says.

“No need to thank me, he’s family. Speaking of, how are my nephews?” He asks me.
“Driving me up a wall, their new thing now is to get me married.” I tell him and he bursts out laughing.
“It’s not funny Theo.” I tell him.
“It kind of is, but I get it though. You deserve to be happy Natalie.” He tells me.
“I’ll be happy once I’ve found my kids, have you found anything on them?” I ask him.
“No, nothing at all. It’s like they don’t exist because there’s no paper trail or anything. But I will find them alright.” He assures me.
“Ok, I’ll talk to you soon.” I tell him and then I cut the call.
There’s no paper trial so this feeling in my chest, am I just imagining it? Are my babies actually dead and I’m just holding on to false hope?
When I got home, I saw a group of middle–aged women surrounding the entrance of the flat and swooning and I wondered what could be the cause of the ruckus, so I listened in on their conversation.
“Isn’t this young man so handsome?”
“He must be waiting for his girlfriend here!”
“I wonder which girl is so lucky to be this young man’s girlfriend?”
Who could they be talking about? If he was really as handsome as they said then his girlfriend was really lucky.
Then my mind immediately went to Samuel and I thought to myself, what exactly would these women say when they saw him?
I glanced nonchalantly at the man surrounded by the older women. When I saw his face, my eyes widened immediately.
Samuel? Why is he here?
Samuel was wearing plain gray trousers and a white and black shirt, but he looked as if he had

just walked out of a fashion magazine.

Two of his shirt buttons were unbuttoned, revealing his sexy collarbone. He seemed fatally tempting.
He stood under the setting sun with one hand in his pocket, looking indescribably handsome.
I don’t know if he sensed me, but all of a sudden, he turned around and looked at me.
Did he come here to meet me? Could it be that something happened to Franklin and Sophia again?
Just as my thoughts were rapidly turning, he took his hand out of his pocket and walked up to her slowly.
“Which floor is your house on?”
“Huh?”
Samuel frowned slightly, and he repeated the question patiently.
“Which floor is your house on?”
I was a little confused, so I mumbled, “It’s… on the eighth floor.”
Without saying anything, Samuel grabbed my hand and headed toward the elevator.
I took a few steps before coming back to her senses. I stopped and asked, “Alpha Bowers, what are you doing?”
“You’re not going to invite me to your house? Are you sure you want to talk to me here while being surrounded by these women?”
“You-” He did have a point.
Just as I was about to glare at him, I noticed that the older women around us were staring at me very intensely.
At that moment, I felt as if I had become the target of their jealously.
I then pulled Samuel into the elevator stiffly. As the elevator doors closed, shielding me from the jealous gazes of the women, I breathed a sigh of relief.
Why can’t I seem to get away from this man? He’s on my mind and when he’s not there, he’s right in front of me.

After the elevator reached the eighth floor, he followed me to the entrance of my house.
“Alpha Bowers.” I turned around and raised my eyes slightly. “Why did you come here? Does it have anything to do with Sophia and Franklin?”
“Can’t I come looking for you for matters not related to them?”
“That’s not it, but you should at least…”
His eyes narrowed slightly, his lips curling up into a smile.
“I missed you, so I came to see you.”
I was completely taken aback by his words.
“Alpha Bowers, are you sure there’s nothing wrong with your taste?” I pointed at my own face. “How could you say those cheesy words to this face?”
Although I did not allow others to dislike her hyper–realistic mask, I herself despised the freckle–covered mask to no end.
Samuel took my hand, and he looked into my eyes.
“I won’t allow you to say that about yourself.”
I have to say his words got to me and his scent, it wad intoxicating and Leila my wolf was jumping for joy.
“Alpha Bowers, do you need me to refer an optometrist to you?”
“Is there something wrong with my eyes?” He leaned down abruptly, closing the distance between us. The tip of his nose was touching mine. “Didn’t you study medicine? Why don’t you take a look first? Is this close enough?”
We were so close that we could feel each other’s warm breath. Our lips were almost touching.
For the first time, I was at a disadvantage in front of this man.
Just then, the door creaked open, and a tiny face poked out.
“Mommy, is that you?”
