Chapter 14
The private jet looked crazy expensive.
It was black and shiny, with silver parts that made it look like
something out of a movie. Damian didn’t say a word when we got there. He just nodded at the guard and walked up the stairs like he
owned the world. He didn’t wait for anyone. He never does.
Evelyn didn’t come with us. That should’ve made me happy.
It didn’t.
I followed him up, holding my suitcase so tight my hand hurt. Mira
walked behind me, cool as always, like this was no big deal.
Inside the plane looked cold and rich. Black leather seats, a long
table, and screens everywhere. There was even a little bar in the back.
I sat across from Damian. Mira took the seat next to me and leaned
back like she was home. Damian didn’t look at me. He was too busy
tapping on some tablet, face hard and serious.
So I didn’t say anything either.
The plane took off smooth and fast. Mira fell asleep. I didn’t.

Damian’s scent was everywhere–spicy, dark, powerful. I tried not to
stare at him, but I could feel him in every breath.
Italy.
The second I stepped out, I knew I wasn’t in my old life anymore.
The air felt different. Warm. Strong. Like the whole country was built
on secrets and history. A big black SUV was waiting. Four guards
stood by it, dressed like they were about to fight someone.
Damian got in first. Didn’t even blink.
Mira climbed in after him. I hesitated for a second, then followed.
I kept feeling like something was watching me. The air, the wind-
everything.
The ride was quiet. Too quiet. Just the tires on the road and a few
glances in the mirror from the driver, who had wolf eyes.
Then we saw it.
The estate.
It looked like a castle. Huge and old, but somehow modern too. Vines,

stone walls, giant gates. Wolves were everywhere–some in human
form, others fully shifted. They didn’t say anything. Just stared.
The gates opened like magic.
Inside was even crazier. Marble floors, high ceilings, glowing lights.
Symbols on the walls made my skin tingle. Something powerful lived
here.
A woman in black came over and bowed. “Your rooms are ready,
Alpha.”
He nodded.
Mira took my suitcase and led me upstairs. The staircase was massive.
I almost tripped twice. I was too busy looking at the paintings on the
ceiling–wolves fighting under a full moon.
We got to a hallway. Mira pointed at a door.
“This one’s yours.”
I opened it and almost forgot how to breathe.
It was beautiful. Big bed, soft blankets, glowing crystals, a view of the
hills. The walls looked painted with magic. The air smelled like

lavender and steel.
“What is this?” I whispered.
“Your room,” Mira said. “Made just for you. Based on your aura.
“My what?”
“Your energy,” she said with a smirk. “Only Lunas get this kind of
treatment.”
I stared at her. “But I’m not his Luna.”
She gave me a look. “Not officially. But come on.”
She dropped my bag by the closet and flopped onto the armchair. “I’m
across the hall. Damian’s next door.”
“Of course he is,” I muttered.
“You okay?” she asked.
Not really.
I stepped out onto the balcony. The view was crazy–green hills,

guards walking around, wolves everywhere.
“Why am I here?” I asked.
She didn’t even blink. “Because this is where you belong.”
“You sound like him.”
“Well, he’s not wrong.”
I turned back. “You think they’ll respect me?”
“You’re with Damian. That’s all they need.”
I shook my head. “That’s not enough for me.”
She sat up straighter. “Has he marked you?”
I froze. “No.”
“Seriously?”
I nodded. “He hasn’t brought it up.”
“And you haven’t asked?”

“Why would I?”
“Because people will see you as weak if you’re unmarked. You’re
walking into dangerous territory. A mark says you’re taken.
Protected.”
I knew she was right. I just hated that it made me feel… sad.
“It’s not just a bite,” Mira said. “It’s a bond. And Damian? He’s strong
enough to make it real.”
“What if he doesn’t want to?”
She laughed. “Girl. If you asked him right now, he’d probably throw
