The Alpha’s Mafia Luna
Chapter 110
He leaned against my desk, arms crossed. “If you need time off-”
“I don’t,” I said quickly. “I need to work. I want to work.”
He didn’t push. Just watched me for a second longer, then handed me a warm cup of coffee.
“I added two sugars. No cream. Just how you like it.”
I blinked.
“Thanks…”
“You don’t have to talk to me. But if you want to, I’m here.”
He walked away without another word.
My smile dropped the moment he was gone.
I made it until lunch without falling apart.”
People at the office were nice but cautious around me, like I had a “Breaks Easily” sign taped to my forehead. I laughed too loud at small jokes. I nodded through meetings like I was listening. I even made some dumb pun about numbers in Excel that got a few chuckles.
Fake. Fake. Fake.
But no one noticed.
Except Lucas,
He kept looking at me like I was a puzzle he wanted to fix.
I didn’t want to be fixed.
I just wanted to feel nothing.
After work, I stopped at the coffee shop near the corner, Not for the drink–I just didn’t want to go home yet, I stared at the window, watching people pass by. Couples. Kids. A dog dragging its owner.
Normal lives.
Mine was anything but.
My phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out, expecting Lucas.
It was Naia.
Naia: “Hey, heading out for dinner. You want anything?”

I frowned.
Dinner? Alone?
Me: “With who?“–
No reply for two minutes.
Naia: “Just a friend.”
My gut tightened.
Me: “What friend?”
She replied almost instantly.
Naia: “Relax, Reen. It’s not a big deal.”
But it felt like a big deal.
1 stared at the message. My fingers hovered over the keyboard.
Then I locked the screen and shoved the phone back in my pocket.
I got back to her place around 7:30. The apartment was quiet. No sign of Naia.
I sat on the couch again, staring at nothing.
And just like before, I felt it.
The mark.
Warm. Present. Alive.
And then…
“You’re avoiding me.”
Damian’s voice.
I didn’t move,
“You’re good at pretending, Serene. But I know what you feel when you hear me,”
I clenched my jaw,
“I can still feel you through the bond. Even when you try to block me out.”
He wasn’t angry. Just calm. Dangerous in his calmness.

Chapter 110
“You’re mine, little one. Whether you say it or not.”
The warmth spread down my spine.
Not comforting–just there. Like a shadow breathing on my neck.
I stood up suddenly and walked to the window. I needed air.
“Get out of my head,” I muttered.
But of course, he didn’t.
The mark pulsed once. Then again. Like a reminder.
“You can ignore me all you want. But I’ll always find you.”
And then, just like that–gone.
My hands were shaking.
But my eyes stayed dry.
I was halfway through folding the blanket on the couch when the front door clicked open.
Naia stepped in, keys in one hand, phone in the other.
I turned.
She froze for a second, then smiled. “Hey! Didn’t think you’d be back so early.”
“Neither did you, huh?”
She laughed. “Sorry, Dinner ran long.”
“With your friend?”
She tilted her head. “Why do you sound like you’re accusing me?”
I shrugged. “Just surprised you didn’t mention this friend before.”
Naia moved to the kitchen, pulling out a bottle of water. “We all have people we don’t talk about, Serene.”
She said it too casually,
Too easily.
“Is that what I am now? One of the people you don’t talk about?”
She paused. Just for a second.

Then she smiled again, soft but unreadable.
“You’re my best friend. Don’t overthink it.”
I didn’t answer.
But something in my chest tightened.
And I couldn’t help but wonder…
Was Naia lying to protect me–or hiding something that could destroy me?
