The drive back was torture. Not the kind that hurtsbut the kind that sears.

Damian’s hand never left my thigh. His fingers occasionally drummed lightly against my skin, teasing the hem of my dress, slipping just slightly beneath it with every red light.

And 1-1 sat there pretending to watch the city blur past, when all I could feel was him.

The wine still swirled warm in my veins. Or maybe it was just him.By the time we pulled into the driveway, silence had stretched too long between us. Tension buzzed in the air like static, heavy with unspoken need.

He killed the engine and turned to me. You okay?he asked, voice deeper now.

I nodded slowly. Mira’s out, right? She texted earlier. Staying at a friend’s. Said she didn’t want to interrupt the magic.

Oh?I leaned toward him. So she knew what was coming? He smirked. I’ve been pretty obvious, haven’t i.I don’t know,I said.

I’ve been patient, Serene,he said, voice husky. But if you don’t kiss me right now, I might lose what little control I have left.

I didn’t give him a chance to lose anything. I leaned in, crashing my lips to his, unbuckling my seatbelt as he yanked me across the center console. His hands cupped my jaw as he deepened the kiss, tasting, claiming. I moaned into his mouth as I straddled him right there in the car, dress riding up, thighs spread over him like I belonged there.

I want you,I breathed against his mouth.

His growl vibrated against my chest. You have me.

Buttons popped off his shirt as I shoved it aside, desperate to feel his skin. My fingers trailed down the hard ridges of his stomach, and he hissed as I ground my hips against him.

Fuck, Sereneif we don’t go inside now, I’m going to take you right here.

I kissed the hollow of his throat. Then what are we waiting for?

We tumbled into the house like fire meeting gasoline.

He barely got the door shut before I was pinned against it, his mouth on my neck, tongue tracing the mark he’d given me once. My hands slid beneath his waistband, teasing the edge of his briefs. He lifted me with ease, my legs wrapping around him as he carried me upstairs like I weighed nothing.

Every step thudded with anticipation.

When we reached his room, he dropped me gently on the bed. I sat up, pulling him down by the collar as I whispered, Take off your pants.

Damian chuckled low. Bossy now, are we?

But he obeyed, tugging his belt open and dropping his pants and boxers in one go. My breath caught. I’d seen him shirtless, sure, but thisthis was different. Raw. Real. All for me.

I pulled my dress over my head slowly, deliberately, until I sat there in only lace panties and nothing else.

Fuck, Serene,he groaned, dragging a hand through his hair. You’re gonna ruin me.

Maybe that’s what I want.

He crawled over me, kissing every inch of skin he could reachmy collarbones, the swell of my breasts, the dip between my ribs. My back arched as he reached behind to unhook my bra, tossing it aside. His mouth closed over a nipple, and I gasped, threading my fingers through his hair.

My hips bucked beneath him.

Damian,I whispered, please.

Please what?he teased, breath hot against my skin.

I need you. Now.

He didn’t need more convincing.

One hand slid between my legs, teasing me through the lace, fingers pressing where I needed him most. I gasped, my head falling back.

You’re soaked,he murmured. And it’s all for me, isn’t it?

Yes,I moaned. All for you.

He tore the lace away with a sharp rip and lined himself up, eyes meeting mine. Are you sure?

I nodded. I’ve never been more sure.

He knelt down in between my legs and I felt his wet tongue on me.

Oh my GodI moaned. It felt so good. His mouth did magic to my clitoris. After he was done driving me crazy he kissed my stomach.

slowly then his mouth grabbed one of my breast while his hand was on the other one.

F**k DamianI cried

He did justice to both of my breast. He kissed me and I tasted myself on his lips.

He entered me slowly, inch by inch, until I was fullstretched, consumed, whole. We stayed like that for a breathless second, our bodies

still, hearts pounding in sync.

Then he moved.

It was everythingslow, deep, and powerful. Like he was trying to memorize every sound I made, every gasp, every arch of my back. His

hand slipped into mine, fingers lacing together as our rhythm quickened.

My name was a groan on his lips, repeated like a prayer.

Serene, you’re driving me insane,he rasped.

And you’re making me feel alive,I whispered.

We flipped, and I rode him with wild abandon, hair resting over my shoulders as I found a pace that sent us both spiraling. His hands gripped my hips, guiding me, helping me, loving me.

When I shattered around him, it was like stars exploding behind my eyes. He followed seconds later, burying himself deep with a groan

that sounded like it had been trapped in his chest for years.

We collapsed together, breathless and spent.

After a long silence, Damian brushed my hair off my face and kissed my temple. I don’t think I’ll ever recover from that.

I smiled, nuzzling into his chest. Then don’t.

Later That Night

Wrapped in a blanket, we lay tangled on the bed, bodies still humming from the aftermath.

So,he murmured, tracing circles on my thigh. How many kids do you want?

I choked on a laugh. What?

Too soon?

Way too soon,I said, giggling. ButI don’t know. Two? Three? You?

Four,he said, deadly serious.

Four?

One for each time you make me forget how to breathe.

I turned my head to look at him, heart clenching in a way that had nothing to do with lust. You’re serious about me, aren’t you?

56

He turned onto his side, hand cupping my cheek. Serene, you are the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing before I

sleep. I’ve killed for less.

That’s romantic in a terrifying kind of way.

I never claimed to be sweet. But I’ll protect you with everything I have. Always.

I leaned in, kissing him softly. You already do.

We fell asleep like thatwrapped up in each other, with the world outside forgotten.

But deep down, we both knew

This calm wouldn’t last forever.
