The Alpha’s Mafia Luna
Chapter 16
By mid–morning, the house was buzzing. Guards lined the gates. Mira
knocked on my door holding a black dress and a pair of matching
heels.
“Council attire,” she said, scanning my neck before walking in. “No
mark, huh.”
I raised a brow. “You sound disappointed.”
She grinned. “Not disappointed. Just surprised. Everyone thought
he’d bite the moment you said yes.”
“I didn’t say yes.”
“Exactly,” she said, laying the dress on the bed. “Which makes it even
juicier.”
“Mira-”
“I’m not judging,” she interrupted, raising her hands in surrender.
“It’s just… Damian’s never gotten this close to anyone. People used
to place bets.”

“On what?”
“Whether the cold Alpha would ever find someone worth his bite.”
Her eyes sparkled. “Guess he almost did.”
I looked away, cheeks warming. “It’s not about that.”
“No,” Mira said softly. “But it kind of is. You just don’t see it yet.”
I didn’t answer..
“What time’s the meeting?”
“Two hours. Damian’s already in a briefing. Wants you ready when
the cars pull up.”
I nodded. “You think I’m ready?”
“You were born ready,” she said with a wink. “But if you puke, wait
until after the council bows.”
“Very reassuring,”
She laughed and left, her heels clicking down the hallway. “Come
down when you’re ready to make the elders sweat.”

Chapter 16
By the time I stepped outside, the cars were waiting.
Sleek, black, armored. Guards positioned like we were royalty. Damian
stood by the first one, already dressed in a sharp suit. He turned the
second I stepped out.
Like he felt me.
That was the strange part. The bond. Unmarked, unspoken, but very much there. I could feel it like a current. And judging by the way his
gaze
darkened when it landed on me, he felt it too.
“You look lethal,” he said, opening the door for me.
“Good,” I replied. “Let’s give the council something to fear.”
The council building looked like a cathedral dipped in politics and blood. Tall, white stone walls veined with ivy. Gold–framed windows.
Guards in suits, some in fur and claws.
They all turned when we stepped out.
Damian walked first. I stayed beside him, not behind. Mira trailed silently after us. We entered with no fanfare–just presence. Just
power.

Chapter 16
Inside, the air was heavy. Not cold. Heavy with age and expectation.
You could feel the weight of old decisions in the floor beneath your
feet.
The chamber was circular, high–ceilinged, filled with wolves in robes
and tailored suits. They turned, eyes sharp and curious.
One of them—a man with silver in his hair and cruelty in his gaze-
stood slowly.
“Damian Wolfe,” he said. “Welcome back.”
Damian’s smile was all bite. “Councilor Varrick.”
Varrick’s eyes slid toward me, curious. “And who might this be?”
I stepped forward before Damian could speak. My voice rang clear.
“Selene.”
No last name. Not yet.
