Chapter 10: Chained and Dragged
*MELENA*
Before I could run through the open gate, the dark-eyed wolf kicked me in the side. I went straight into
the wall.
I growled in pain as the green-eyed alpha wrapped the cold, silver chain around my throat.
The chain squeezes my neck as he’s pulling me to go with him. I whimper and stiffen my body, refusing to go with him.
He made the strongest pull that nearly jerked my life from my body, coercing me to immediately follow
him.
As I’m almost out of the cell, I looked towards the dark and deadly eyes of the wolf within the cell with tears in my eyes. What I saw within his eyes was disgust. He looked at me as if he were looking at something disturbing.
I wanted him to care about how I was treated, like how he first saved me, but to him, what was
happening to me was like discarding rubbish.
Determined not to go with him, I’m again stiffening my body.
My neck is now burning like a fire with bruises from the chain.
Again, he made another strong pull, this time making me fall onto my stomach.
He dragged me along the hard, cold floor, not giving me a chance to stand up.
I cried out for help from anyone who would hear me, feel sorry for me, and save me.
“Shut up!” the green-eyed alpha shouted at me.
He stepped into my side, and I coughed out blood.
I whimper quietly, shaking like a leaf, afraid of being hurt again.
“Please let me go,” I began to beg him.
The green-eyed alpha laughed.
“Can’t you speak properly?” he said as he laughed.
It seems I had forgotten how to speak. For ten years, I have been in my wolf form. I have never spoken, too traumatized by what had happened a long time ago.
He could not understand me even if I tried to beg for my life.
To him, it sounds as if I’m insane or speaking gibberish.
Soon, I was outside the entire building.

I saw the children I once chased for help with adults wrapping their hands around them as if they were trying to protect them from me.
“There it is,” the children pointed at me, terrified.
“It tried to kill us,” they said in tears.
Soon, I saw more people.
They just stood and watched, not caring to help me.
I closed my eyes, ashamed as they watched me being dragged.
“What is happening here?” I heard a curious voice.
No one answered.
The green-eyed alpha continued to drag me.
Soon, I felt him stop.
I continue to close my eyes, feeling worthless, and lie on the dirty ground as hard stone pierces my furry
side.
I then opened my eyes to see why the green-eyed alpha stopped, and I saw a woman holding the chain. within her hands, staring into the green-eyed alpha’s eyes with anger.
“Alpha Alexander,” the lady called the green-eyed alpha, disappointedly.
He said nothing as she took hold of the chain.
“How could you just stand here and allow this to happen, Strider?” She then turned to the dark-eyed wolf that was standing behind me.
He too said nothing.
The lady’s eyes then went to my ocean-blue eyes. Her green eyes then began to move across my body, seeing that I was hurt and needed help.
“I’m not letting you take her.”
