Chapter 12: The Herb Doctor House
*MELENA*
I moved away from the window to the bed. I smelled the food. It felt safe to eat, and I bit into the chicken.
Suddenly, I stopped. I was starting to feel pain in my sides where both alphas had kicked me.
Eutis saw I was in pain and moved closer to touch my side.
I frightenedly jumped, pushing myself backwards towards the window again.
“I will never hurt you.” She held out her hand, wanting me to come to her.
I continued to look at her until I felt my feet move closer and closer to her, until we were both face-to-
face.
She wrapped her hands around me, and I laid my head on her shoulder.
I broke down in tears; I haven’t been hugged for years.
She held me even tighter as I cried.
“You’ve been through a lot, young she-wolf. I will not let anyone hurt you as long as you’re here with me,” she said to me, softly.
I wanted to believe what she said, but I couldn’t. My parents couldn’t save me from our own alpha claiming me, so she could never protect me from Alpha Alexander nor the punishment he has in store for me.
Eutis could only aid me until I could endure my punishment for stealing leftovers from Alpha Alexander’s house because I was hungry.
My sides were starting to hurt even more.
Eutis led me downstairs to help me with the pain.
She instructed me to sit, and I watched her go for a strange white liquid from a drawer and an IV catheter. She then places the white liquid within the IV catheter.
I was terrified at the sight of the pointed instrument.
“I’m going to give you a liquid painkiller,” she said. It will not only get rid of the pain fast, but you’ll shift back into your human form, and you won’t be able to transform into your wolf form for 7 hours.”
I was shocked when I heard her say so.
I howl softly, moving my head side to side, telling her no. I didn’t want to shift back into my human form; it only meant more pain and more misery.

“I won’t force you to,” she said.
And so she placed the objects back within the drawer.
I was amazed by what she did. She didn’t compel me to take the painkiller. She was different, but still I
didn’t trust her.
I shrieked, widening my eyes. The pain was getting worse. I stumbled to the floor, shaking. I was now finding it difficult to breathe from the harsh pain.
Eutis rushed back into the brown drawer and took out the painkiller.
She came to me, sticking the IV catheter within my body and injecting the painkiller within me.
I continue to lie there, still in great pain.
Why does it not work?, I howled.
But she was unable to understand me.
