The Beta’s Rejected Daughter
Chapter 31
Lance’s eyes flicked to Jake, Lance, then to Lydia as if he was expecting an answer.

The three of them exchanged quick, uneasy glances and for the first time since this started, uncertainty crept into their expressions.
In fact, that was the first time I ever saw them scared, and I was the one who put the fear in them.
The sirens outside cut through the air moments later and I could see Lace grit his teeth, rubbing his temple. Jake was almost sweating under the air conditioner. Damon could only stare at me as if he was seeing a ghost.
The police arrived.
“Who made the report?” one of the officers asked as he stepped inside, his gaze sweeping the tense room.
“I did,” I said calmly, lifting my chin. “Officer, these three falsely accused me of theft and verbally attacked me, saying I was into prostitution.”
“That’s a lie!” Jake snapped immediately, others supporting him and I smiled, knowing they would try to deny and shove it under the bus.
“I recorded everything.” My voice echoed and the room froze again..
Without hesitation, I pulled out my phone and played the recording–Lance’s voice, Jake’s accusations, Lydia’s carefully veiled insinuations. Every word echoed through the room, naked and undeniable.
They went pale.
‘You recorded us?” Jake spat, shame and fury twisting his features. “What a sly move.”
The officer listened in silence. When the recording ended, he turned slowly to Lance, disappointment etched deep into his expression.
If this reaches the court,” he said evenly, “it will severely damage your credibility if you lack evidence. He paused and asked “Is the theft you accused her of, true?”
Lance smirked faintly and nodded. “It is.”
Damon stepped towards me, his voice sharp with controlled anger. “So this is what you wanted? To drag our family name through the mud instead of acting mature and resolving this privately?
He turned to the officer, who straightened instinctively. “I’m glad you’re here. I’d like to file a report as well. She stole one hundred and fifty thousand dollars from the Jensons. Since she chose to play dirty, there’s no need for mercy. If she ends up in prison, I won’t feel guilty–even if she’s my sister”
There it was, his words slashing like the final blade.
“You know I didn’t steal anything,” I said firmly
Damon scoffed, “Then prove it. Explain how you gained that kind of wealth in a single mouth. Who are

you staying with? What secret are you hiding?”
His stare was hard and unforgiving.

Officer Elbert exhaled slowly, rubbing his temple. “Enough. This will require an official investigation. All parties will come to the station. If charges are necessary, the court will decide.”
Lance suddenly stepped forward. “You still have time to apologize and end this here.” he said to me and I laughed softly.
“You should be the one apologizing,” I replied. “Soon everyone will know you’re unfit to work for the pack at all.”
I took Raina’s hand and turned toward the exit.
Her grip tightened. “Fiona… are you sure this isn’t risky?”
Before I could answer, Kieran’s voice slid through the mindlink, calm and steady.
“Don’t worry at all…Sorry we didn’t tell you earlier,” he said. “We’re registered under the Silver Vein organization. Don’t worry. Once they trace your incomes, everyone will be the one begging for forgivene for every accusation”
Raina gasped audibly. “Silver Vein?” She covered her mouth.
“Do you know them?” I asked curiously.
“I’ve only read about them,” she whispered, eyes wide. “They’re the ”
She didn’t finish before a firm hand closed around my arm and pulled me aside.
“Fiona.” Prince Daren’s voice washed over me as I looked up to his towering height, our body touching each other slightly. “What the hell are these police men doing here? Where are they taking you to? What happened?!” He asked with so much concern.
“A little legal matter from my former family. It will be sorted out.”
He blinked. “That’s it?”
“Yes,”
He leaned in slightly, his voice low enough that only I could hear. “Call me if you need help. Crime or not. I’ll pull you out.”
The room erupted in whispers as they saw this
“The prince is that close to her?”
“Doesn’t he know she’s the rejected daughter who almost committed murder
“Is he protecting her?”
“How could he even look at her, ignoring the better daughter, Lydia.”
