Alessa and Stacey stared at each other confused. That was too specific. The students murmured as they made their way out of the hall.
“Let's go,” Alessa said, and was about to walk away but Stacey held her hand immediately.
“Something is not right, I have a bad feeling about this,” Stacey said with her voice trembling and Alessa stared at her confused.
“What? Madam Olga might just be calling us… “
“Think about it. Why the hell is Madam Olga calling a graduating student and a senior?” Stacey raised her voice a little. Alessa was still confused.
“Listen to me, Alessa. If anything happens, I want you to remember this. My sister’s name is Phoebe Hunter, and she is eleven. She is in Kim's foundation home in California. When you get out of here, you need to find her and help her, okay?” Stacey said, holding her hands with her voice trembling.
“Calm down, Stacey. Nothing is… “
“For fuck’s sake, Alessa. Say it and promise me!” Stacey yelled at her.
“Phoebe Hunter, eleven years old. Kim’s foundation in California.” Alessa said.
“And?”
“And I promise to find her and help her,” Alessa said and Stacey nodded in response.
“Let’s go,” Stacey said and they both rushed out. As they got closer, Alessa’s heart raced in fear. Stacey was beyond scared, she just knew something was wrong.
They got into the training hall and met everyone there. In the middle of the room were Aliyah and Lily’s friends.
“It's about time.” Madam Olga said as she saw them.
“Move closer,” she ordered them. Alessa and Stacey both walked closer to her.
“Just a question, Stacey. Did you help Alessa during her last trial?” she asked and Alessa’s eyes widened a little.
Stacey gulped as she felt her heart race. She could hear how loud her heart was beating.
“No, ma’am,” she replied and bowed.
Madam Olga turned to Aliyah.
“Aliyah?”
“Look at Alessa,” she ordered and Stacey turned to Alessa and looked up at her.
“Cheating isn't allowed here and you know that right?”
“Yes, ma’am,” she replied with her voice trembling. Madam Olga stood behind her and pulled out a knife.
She placed it on Stacey’s throat and Alessa’s eyes widened.
Immediately, Alessa fell to her knees.
“No, no. Please. It's my fault, I asked her for help, and I deserve to be punished. Not her, please.” Alessa cried as tears clouded her eyes. Stacey trembled in fear as tears streamed down her cheeks.
“There are always consequences for every action. You cheated and broke an important rule. You weren't loyal to everyone by knowing what the trial was about before it started. And when loyalty has been broken, death is the best settlement.” Madam Olga said.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Please.” Alessa cried loudly.
“Look at her, Alessa. This is your fault, her death is in your hands.” Madam Olga said and slit Stacey’s throat. Alessa’s eyes widened as Stacey fell dead with blood gushing out of her throat.
Alessa’s screams filled the room as she felt her heart shatter.
