The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 119

Silas sat beside her. He picked up the iodine, dipped a cotton swab into it, and gently cleaned Alaina's wounds.

As the iodine hit the raw skin, Alaina instinctively flinched, her brow furrowing tightly as a soft gasp of pain escaped her lips.

Silas slowed his movements immediately, offering a low, soothing voice. "Almost done. Just hold on."

Alaina watched Silas quietly.

His profile was still as sharp and commanding as ever, but when his gaze landed on the glaring red bruises across her wrists, he paused. His eyes turned noticeably colder than before.

She finally exhaled the heavy breath trapped in her chest and whispered, "Thank you... for saving me."

Silas looked up. "I was late. You suffered because of it."

Alaina froze. She was still terrified, but hearing those words shattered her final emotional barrier, and the tears she had been fighting back began to fall.

Feeling completely embarrassed, she quickly wiped them away, sniffing hard and shaking her head.

"How did you find me?" she asked.

"Michelle saw you get snatched. I tracked your location and rushed over," Silas replied.

Alaina was confused. "Location?"

Silas looked at her intently. "Where is the wedding ring I gave you?"

Alaina reached into her collar and pulled out the ring hanging from her necklace. The last time she saw Silas wearing his, she had decided it was too inconvenient to wear hers while doing lab work, so she had strung it onto a chain.

"There's a micro-tracker inside the ring," Silas explained.

She was stunned. Normally, she would have been furious, but right now, she couldn't muster any anger. All she felt was profound relief.

In a godforsaken place like that, if it hadn't been for this ring, she would undoubtedly be dead right now.

"I didn't tell you the details before because I didn't want to disrupt your normal life," Silas explained softly. "But now, you can ask me anything you want to know."
