The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 130

Mrs. Harrington's eyes went wide with absolute shock. "Mom, what on earth are you talking about? Handle what?"

Ethan let out a dry, cynical laugh, shaking his head in profound, gut-wrenching despair.

Grandmother Harrington aggressively slammed her cane against the floor, looking at him as if he were an utter disappointment. "Ethan, snap out of it and act like a man! Lily is the only woman who actually brings value to your future. I'll admit, Alaina is a sweet girl who took decent care of you, but she brings absolutely nothing to the table. She is nothing but dead weight dragging you down. Smart men know when to cut their losses and look forward."

Ethan slowly dragged himself up from the sofa. With a thick layer of unshed tears blurring his vision, he stared dead into his grandmother's eyes. "You are incredibly smart. But that golden boy with the bright future—the precious grandson you bet all your chips on—died three years ago in that car crash. And today, you personally murdered him all over again."

Grandmother Harrington stumbled backward, visibly shaken by the terrifying deadness in his eyes.

Refusing to waste another breath on them, Ethan turned around and walked out the door.

He drove back to his private mansion, dismissed all the staff, yanked all the blackout curtains shut, and entombed himself in absolute darkness.

He had no idea how many hours ticked by.

He didn't move until the bedroom door was suddenly shoved open. A figure marched inside and aggressively ripped the curtains wide open.

Lying on the sofa, he instinctively threw his arm over his eyes to block the blinding, agonizing assault of the sunlight.

As his eyes finally adjusted, he dropped his arm and realized the person standing over him was Lily.

She had chopped off all her long hair into a sharp bob. Her arms were crossed tightly over her chest as she stared down at him with ruthless, icy calculation.

He groaned, struggling to sit up. "Close the curtains."

Lily grabbed his wrist in a vice grip. "Today is my birthday. Take a shower, because you are coming with me to The Summers Estate."

Ethan violently yanked his hand out of her grasp and muttered a deadpan, "Happy birthday."

Then he collapsed right back onto the sofa.

"Ethan, get a grip on yourself," Lily snapped. "We are not going to let them destroy us like this."

Ethan glared at her, his eyes cold and hollow. "You knew all along, didn't you? Why didn't you tell me?"
