The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 145

Alaina and Julian walked out of the workshop together.

"It seems my self-study these past few weeks has paid off. I even had the nerve to offer suggestions to an expert," Julian chuckled, gently mocking himself.

Alaina smiled as she took off her suit. "It just means you have a natural talent for this, Mr. Rowe."

Julian laughed. "I just told Silas that I'll be the one taking you home."

Alaina nodded.

In the car.

Julian asked Alaina a slew of technical questions, and she patiently explained everything to him.

"You really do have a gift," Alaina repeated.

Julian smiled and nodded. "It's a shame. If I hadn't promised Silas that I'd protect Lockwood Holdings for the rest of my life, I would have loved to be a researcher."

Just as he finished speaking, the driver slammed on the brakes.

Julian instantly threw his arm out to shield Alaina.

Terrible memories suddenly rushed back. Panic contorted Alaina's face as she wrapped her arms around her head, her entire body trembling uncontrollably.

The driver quickly apologized. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Rowe. A small dog ran across the street."

The car started moving again.

Julian looked at her and murmured soothingly, "It was just an accident."

Hearing his voice, Alaina finally managed to calm down.

Julian sat back and suddenly asked in a gentle tone, "Would you like to try learning some self-defense?"

Alaina shook her head. "I've failed at sports since I was a kid."
