The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 146

The sparring partner lost his balance, his body pitching forward uncontrollably before hitting the mat.

Julian didn't press the attack. Instead, he gently offered a hand to help the man up.

After a few more rounds, Julian's hair was damp with sweat, clinging to his forehead. It gave him an unexpectedly wild, rugged charm.

When the session ended, the sparring partner stood up and offered a respectful bow, genuine admiration in his eyes.

Julian nodded in return and wiped the sweat from his brow.

He glanced toward Alaina on the sidelines, a faint smile curling his lips. All the lethal intensity from the match vanished, replaced by a soft, warm look. He seemed like an entirely different person.

The next second, Julian walked over to sit beside her, twisting the cap off a bottle of water to take a drink.

Alaina was still reeling from the shock.

She had always thought Julian was a sophisticated, gentle man with an intellectual air about him.

She never expected he had a side like this.

"I was sick a lot when I was a kid," Julian said. "Silas taught me how to train. I remember being short and scrawny, while Silas was already built like a tank. So in the beginning, I just got thrown around constantly."

"He told me he didn't expect me to win a fight. He just wanted me to hold my ground for a few extra minutes during an emergency to buy myself enough time to run."

"Look at me now. I don't flinch at petty thugs. Compared to guys who walk around with a mob of security, knowing I can protect myself gives me so much more freedom."

"I believe the best way to conquer fear is to face it head-on. You should give it a try. Even if just for the physical exercise, it's great."

Julian looked at her seriously. "If you don't want to learn from me, you could ask Silas to teach you himself. He's practically a master at every martial art in the book."

Alaina smiled. "I'll think about it."

Julian arched an eyebrow, amused. "Thinking about it means you're willing to try, right?"
