The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 187

It was just a fleeting, gentle brush of lips that lasted barely a few seconds, but to Alaina, it felt like an eternity.

Silas pulled back slightly, his rhythmic, warm breath ghosting over the tip of her nose.

"Was that... the gift?" she asked, fighting desperately to appear unfazed.

His Adam's apple bobbed as a low chuckle rumbled from his chest. Shaking his head, he murmured, "You just said there was nothing in this world I wasn't capable of. Technically, this is something I'm very bad at. I severely lack practice."

Alaina bit her lip, suppressing a laugh, her voice coming out husky. "Me neither."

"Didn't you watch a tutorial?" he arched an eyebrow.

Her face ignited with renewed embarrassment. "It's freezing. Let's go back down," she deflected, instinctively shoving at his chest.

But his hand shot out, capturing her wrist and yanking her flush against his solid torso.

Cupping her jaw to keep her firmly in place, he crashed his lips back down onto hers.

Unlike the gentle brush from moments ago, this kiss was commanding, possessive, and utterly breathtaking.

The dazzling fireworks fading above and the icy snow catching in their hair couldn't even begin to combat the scorching, all-consuming heat melting between them.

Closing her eyes, Alaina went completely boneless in his arms, her fists knotting desperately in his lapels as she clumsily surrendered to his rhythm.

She had no memory of how she eventually navigated back down the stairs, completely incapable of looking him in the eye.

Hastily straightening the sheets on her bed, she kept her gaze fixed on the floor. "If you're tired, go ahead and sleep. I left a fresh towel and toothbrush in the bathroom. Those pajamas are a new pair Evelyn bought for my dad, so just make do with them. I'm... I'm going downstairs to wait for midnight. Don't mind me."

Dropping the instructions, she spun around to flee.

Silas planted himself squarely in the doorway, highly entertained by her frantic, flustered panic.

"Excuse me," she mumbled, dropping her head even lower.

Snatching her wrist, he yanked her sideways, throwing his arm around her waist and hauling her right off her feet.
