The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 188

"Relax," Silas murmured. "If you hated me kissing you, I won't do it again."

"I... I didn't hate it," Alaina blurted out instantly. Her face erupted in fresh flames, the blush spreading all the way to the tips of her ears.

Realizing what she just admitted, she let out an agonizing groan. "Forget it. Every time I open my mouth, I just make it worse. I'm going to shut up now."

A crooked smile tugged at Silas's lips. Tightening his grip around her waist, he leaned in and pressed a lingering kiss against her forehead. "Alright, I'll stop teasing you."

Slowly, the coiled tension in Alaina's body began to unwind. Pressed so tightly against his chest, she could feel the steady, powerful thud of his heart syncing perfectly with her own.

Outside, a rogue firecracker occasionally popped, echoing over the feather-light whisper of the falling snow. Bathed in the soft, golden glow of her bedroom, a profound warmth wrapped around her, pulling her effortlessly into a deep sleep.

When she finally opened her eyes again, the space beside her was empty.

Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she padded downstairs, only to be met with an incredibly familiar sight.

Silas and Stella were locked in yet another intense standoff of musical statues.

This time, however, Silas was blatantly letting her win.

Clinching her victory, Stella leaped into the air, dancing wildly. "I won! I beat Silas!"

Leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, Alaina couldn't help but smile.

Silas turned and caught her watching. Walking over, he said, "Hurry up and get ready. After breakfast, it's time to collect your present."

Confused but entirely intrigued, she did as she was told.

By the time they finished eating, two SUVs were idling in the driveway.

Arthur and Evelyn wheeled out massive suitcases, scooped up Stella, and announced cheerfully, "Family vacation, here we come!"
