The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 213

Alaina didn't make any promises.

Fiona had the tact not to push the issue any further.

After seeing her guest out, Alaina carried the box back to her bedroom. Noticing an envelope tucked inside, she carefully opened it.

Inside was a handwritten card from Mrs. Harrington.

*Alaina, thank you for being a part of our family. As a mother myself, I know your mom loved you more than anything in the world. She would want you to be happy on every single birthday. This isn't an expensive gift, but I wish you the happiest of birthdays.*

Alaina's eyes welled with tears. She took a deep breath, fighting to regain her composure.

She tossed and turned all night.

The following day, right after work, she arranged to meet Julian Rowe.

Julian told her he was heading to the gym for judo practice and asked her to meet him there.

When she arrived, she waited for him to finish his session before getting straight to the point.

Julian raised an eyebrow. "Did you forget I'm the chairman of Lockwood Holdings?"

"I know." Alaina looked genuinely apologetic. "But I didn't know who else to turn to. I'm not asking you to go against Silas, nor am I asking you to show the Harringtons mercy. I just want to know, based on your experience, is there any way for them to retain at least a fraction of their assets?"

Julian looked at her seriously. "Lockwood is only targeting their medical division. The rest of their operations remain completely untouched. Ethan is the head of that division, meaning he will lose absolute control over it, but nothing else will be affected."

Hearing that brought a slight measure of comfort to Alaina.

However, she remembered Mrs. Harrington mentioning that the medical sector was the foundational pillar of their empire; compared to it, their other ventures were weak and unprofitable.
