The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 235

After dinner.

Alaina returned to the Summers Estate.

Struck by a sudden wave of inspiration, she went straight to her room, opened her laptop, and tried to access some of her old data on the cloud.

As luck would have it, the internet refused to connect.

She thought about calling Mrs. Gable to see if someone could check for a network outage.

But remembering how busy the housekeeper and the staff had been when she arrived, she decided to head downstairs and check the equipment room behind the courtyard herself.

Zachary had mentioned the equipment room to her once before.

She found the room, opened the door, and was met with walls of heavy-duty hardware.

She was an engineer, after all. She quickly located the main network router, spotted a loose ethernet cable, and firmly plugged it back in.

Satisfied that the issue was fixed, she turned to leave, only to spot the main HVAC controls.

Remembering that the heating in Silas's room had supposedly been broken for days, she decided on a whim to inspect it.

Seeing that the main panel's indicator light was off, she hit the reset button.

Within moments, the status lights began blinking normally.

She froze in her tracks. The equipment was working perfectly.

She stormed out, marched back upstairs to Silas's room, and pressed the smart thermostat on the wall.

A few seconds later, she felt a steady stream of warm air blowing from the vents.

She pulled out her phone and called Mrs. Gable, casually asking when the heating was scheduled to be repaired.

Mrs. Gable replied that Zachary handled all villa maintenance, and Mr. Summers had mentioned it would still take a while to fix.

Alaina thanked her, hung up, and stood with her hands on her hips. It all clicked into place.
