The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 260

Stella cupped her little hands over Alaina's ear. "I saw Silas at the market today."

Hearing this, Alaina's whole body jolted.

She knew it. Her intuition hadn't been wrong.

Stella went on, "When Michelle lifted me up, I could see really, really far."

"Right... right behind the ring toss stall, there was an alley. He was standing there, wearing a mask. But I recognized his eyes—it was definitely Silas! He stared at you for a really long time. He even put a finger to his lips, telling me to keep it a secret."

Alaina's heart hammered in her chest, a deafening buzz filling her ears.

She stood up abruptly, staring frantically out the window.

The sky had already gone dark, and the distant sound of the theatrical performances had completely faded away.

Sensing the shift in the atmosphere, Michelle put down her pencil and walked over. "What's wrong?" she asked softly.

Alaina didn't answer. She told Michelle to stay with Stella before sprinting out the door.

The night wind hit her face, carrying the slight, damp chill of spring, instantly whipping her hair into a frenzy.

The rural town had quieted down for the night.

The daytime market had long since packed up, leaving the streets and alleys utterly deserted, illuminated only by sparse, flickering streetlights.

Alaina sprinted recklessly, her frantic footsteps echoing against the pavement. Her breathing was ragged, and a tight knot squeezed her chest.

Even knowing there was an eighty percent chance Silas had already left, she simply couldn't control herself.

"Silas!"

"Silas, come out!"

The wind carried her shouts, scattering them across every corner of the empty streets, laden with the pent-up grievance, longing, and despair she had harbored for days.
