The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 263

Stella's eyes sparkled as she lunged forward, hugging Silas's arm. "Silas! You're finally here! Tell Michelle how many apples Timmy actually bought!"

Silas glanced down at her, his expression softening. "How do you think we should solve this one?"

"I'm in charge of eating the apples!" Stella declared without skipping a beat. "Michelle buys them, Alaina pays for them, and you make the money to afford them. It's the perfect ecosystem!"

Alaina was speechless.

Michelle was equally stunned.

...

Arthur and Evelyn hurried downstairs when they heard the commotion, warmly greeting Silas the moment they saw him.

By the time things settled down, it was time for bed.

Silas was sitting on the edge of the mattress.

Alaina hauled a massive pile of shopping bags over and dropped them right in front of him, crossing her arms as she gave him a look that clearly demanded an explanation.

A faint smirk tugged at the corner of Silas's mouth. "You don't like it?"

"I knew it was you." Alaina immediately started her interrogation. "No one else would do something this ridiculous. Just look at all this. It'll take years to finish it all. The food will go stale before we even make a dent."

Silas chuckled, trying to soothe her. "If it goes stale, we throw it out. All that matters is that you're happy right now."

"Right, and Stella is definitely the happiest of us all. With this amount of junk food, her teeth will rot out of her head by the time we visit again." Alaina refused to back down, glaring at him. "I don't care. You bought it, so you figure out what to do with it. We are not wasting this."

Silas thought about it for a second, then moved the towering pile of bags off to the side. "I'll handle it."

Only then did a small smile finally break across Alaina's face. "I never figured you'd have such a childish side to you."

"Childish?" Silas arched an eyebrow, the amusement in his eyes deepening as he reached out and gently pinched her cheek. "Do you really hate it that much?"

Alaina tilted her head to dodge his hand, but the tips of her ears betrayed a faint blush as she stubbornly replied, "Who would like this? The only ones thrilled are the kid who hasn't grown up yet and the adult who refuses to. That's who likes it."

Silas let out a low laugh, not bothering to argue the point.
