The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 267

Mr. Summers...

Alaina froze in complete surprise.

Dr. Everett immediately stood up to personally welcome the guest.

A moment later, Silas was ushered into the room.

Alaina never expected him to show up.

But there he was, standing right in the doorway in a sharply tailored suit, looking utterly unfazed.

Dr. Everett clearly hadn't anticipated Silas making a personal appearance either. He beamed brightly. "Mr. Summers, I've heard so much about you. It is an absolute honor to finally meet you in person. Please, have a seat."

Silas gave a brief nod, maintaining a polite but distinctively distant demeanor.

He walked straight over to Alaina, taking her hand as he took the seat right beside her.

Their eyes met, and Alaina whispered, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to pick you up," Silas murmured back.

Dr. Everett sat back down across from them, his tone dripping with enthusiasm. "Mr. Summers, I was just walking your wife through our latest research findings. Your family's medical history holds immense clinical value. If you were to participate in our trial, it wouldn't just be a monumental breakthrough for the medical community, but for you personally..." He paused, lowering his voice. "It could only bring you benefits."

Silas didn't reply to the doctor right away. Instead, he leaned in and spoke softly to Alaina. "Wait for me outside."

It wasn't a command, but an incredibly gentle request backed by an undeniable authority.

Alaina nodded and stepped out of the room. As she pulled the door shut behind her, she could hear Dr. Everett launching right back into his detailed pitch regarding Thomas's ongoing data tracking.

The hallway was dead quiet, illuminated by the sunlight slanting through the tall glass windows.

Alaina leaned against the wall, her heart still racing.

She honestly had no idea if Silas would let himself be swayed. Truthfully, she didn't even know what outcome she was rooting for—whether she wanted him to accept the treatment or stubbornly stick to his guns.

Ten minutes later, the door swung open.

Silas stepped out, his expression perfectly neutral, making it impossible to gauge what had just transpired.

He walked up to her and took her hand. "Let's go."
