The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 295

Silas walked over and sat down beside her.

Alaina gazed at his profile. "Silas, I don't want to be angry anymore. I don't want to waste my time being mad at you."

Silas nodded in earnest agreement.

"Since you said you were serious about the wedding, I want you to answer me right now: Why? Why do you want to marry me?"

Alaina pressed her lips together firmly, waiting for his response.

Silas met her gaze with those deep, dark eyes of his. After a long silence, he finally answered, "I care about you more than I realized, and far more than you could ever imagine."

"I selfishly thought that dressing up beautifully and having a wedding would make you happy."

Alaina's eyes grew red.

Even though she didn't hear a direct 'I like you' or 'I love you,' she could feel the profound emotion radiating from his gaze.

It was undeniably the absolute devotion and adoration a man had for a woman.

Though unspoken, it was enough to make her heart race wildly.

Every ounce of anxiety and fear she had harbored vanished in an instant.

She no longer felt the need to interrogate him for a better answer; a wave of total relief washed over her.

"So... I suppose this is the highest honor a business partner can receive?" she joked, flashing a smile to break the heavy silence.

The corners of Silas's lips slowly curled upward. He reached out, his hand cupping the back of her neck as he pulled her into his arms, wrapping her tightly in his embrace.

Alaina rested her chin on his shoulder, closing her eyes as she greedily breathed in his scent.

The emotions surging in her chest could no longer be contained. Without an ounce of fear, she pressed her lips near his ear and whispered, "I care about you far more than you realize, too. No matter what happens, I will never abandon you. So please, don't ever abandon me either."

Silas's expression turned solemn as he pulled her even closer, holding her so tightly it was as if he wanted to meld her into his very bones.
