The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 56

"I don't need feasibility," Silas stated icily.

Alaina paused, detecting the obvious dissatisfaction in his tone. She tried to explain calmly. "Military-grade chips have never required cutting-edge specs; they prioritize stability and domestic production. Now you want to miniaturize them, upgrade the performance, and maintain that same stability. Just confirming that it's feasible is a massive leap forward.

"The next phase involves extensive data simulation in a lab setting. It's a colossal workload that cannot be rushed. To put it bluntly, given our country's current lithography capabilities, we can't manufacture this domestically anyway. So, rushing me won't change reality."

At that, Silas snapped his laptop shut and raised his cool, piercing gaze. "Dr. Rossi confidently vowed to complete the next iteration before Apex mass-produces their lithography machine. Are you suddenly no longer in a rush?"

Alaina froze for a few seconds. That single comment was the exact reason she had a target on her back.

Locking her up here was just a test to see if she could back up her claims.

Now he had dug a massive crater and was daring her to jump in.

If she backed down, she'd lose face.

If she jumped in, she'd probably lose her life.

She cursed herself for being so reckless back then.

Her mind raced, her knuckles turning white as she gripped her knees, forcing herself to show weakness. "I don't remember what I said before... I was just speaking out of anger."

Silas set his laptop aside. His gaze sliced through his lenses like a serrated blade, dissecting her to the point where every lie and excuse felt painfully transparent.

"So you're saying I made an error in judgment and chose the wrong person?"

Though his voice was dangerously soft, it carried the weight of a mountain, completely crushing the air out of her lungs.
