The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 75

With that, Alaina brushed past Ethan's shoulder and walked away with her head held high.

It was as if she had reverted to the resilient Alaina she used to be, no longer waiting around for anyone to save her.

With a determined gaze, she wiped the invisible tears of the past from her face, straightened her metaphorical torn uniform, and moved forward.

Ethan stood frozen in place like a statue, the veins on his forehead bulging with suppressed rage.

He dialed Ms. Campbell. "Book two tickets to the United States."

...

The final day of the divorce cooling-off period finally arrived.

Alaina went to the civil affairs bureau alone.

She had specifically texted Ethan yesterday to remind him.

He had read the message but didn't reply.

She even called the hospital, and Ms. Campbell informed her that he was out of town on a business trip, completely oblivious to his return date.

Even though Zachary Jenkins had assured her that she only needed to wait in the lobby no matter what happened, her nerves were still getting the better of her.

Would Ethan actually show up?

When she saw Harvey Fletcher walk through the doors, the knot in Alaina's chest finally loosened.

"Did you bring all your IDs?" Harvey asked, getting straight to the point.

Alaina nodded.

"Right this way." Harvey led her into a private meeting room on the side and pulled out a document. "I need you to sign this first."

Alaina scanned the agreement. It detailed the transfer of her shares in the Harrington Corporation back to Ethan.

She had no memory of ever owning any shares.

It wasn't until Harvey explained Mrs. Harrington's altered will that she finally understood.

She had absolutely no interest in the shares to begin with, so she gladly signed her name. Then she asked, "What about the land for the wellness center? How was that resolved?"

"You don't know? Your father didn't tell you?"
