The CEO’s Regret My Ex-Wife is a Tech Goddess novel Chapter 90

Alaina flinched, nodding vigorously in guilty panic with a flushed face. "I'm fine, I just need a second."

Michelle considerately stood up. "I'll go get you some water."

No sooner had she spoken than a glass of water was suddenly handed over.

Alaina looked up to see Silas holding a tray and looking at her.

The team immediately stood up.

"Hello, Mr. Summers."

Then, with apprehensive looks, they practically scurried away in unison.

"Mr. Summers, you can sit next to our boss," Michelle offered with a smile. "We're all finished, so we'll get back to work."

She then pointedly told Alaina, "Boss, I'll heat up your medicine and leave it in your office. You can drink it when you come up."

"Thank you," Alaina said with a smile.

Silas sat down and began eating with an indifferent expression, as if nothing around him mattered at all.

Alaina peeked at the food on his plate: beef and vegetables, no rice.

She recalled that he had eaten a vegetable salad and egg whites the previous morning.

"Mr. Summers, do you need me to give you a work report right now?" she offered.

Silas glanced up at her. "I'll need some of your time this afternoon. You're coming with me to meet someone."

Alaina blinked, then nodded.

That afternoon.

Alaina got into Silas's car.

They drove steadily toward the outskirts of the city.

Watching the scenery gradually change from urban sprawl to countryside, she couldn't help but think of Rossi County.

Just then, the partition window rolled down.

Zachary turned around to ask, "Mr. Summers, the cemetery just called to say Lily hasn't shown up today. They're asking if the ceremony should still proceed."
