Grace shot Anthony a fierce glare.
She thought her warning would at least make Anthony show some restraint and keep his mouth
shut.
But his good behavior lasted only a short while. As soon as he saw Autumn Lopez’s off mood, he reverted to his old ways.
“Anthony!”
Both Grace and Ella looked at him warningly.
Autumn Lopez wasn’t the kind of employer you could easily fool.
If Anthony thought he could treat her like his other clients and act recklessly, he was sorely
mistaken.
Both Ella and Grace cherished the opportunity to work with Autumn Lopez and didn’t want Anthony ruining it all.
“Is that so?”
Autumn did need a place to unwind and relax her tense nerves.
“You can go check it out.”
She glanced at Anthony and said, “Go ahead.”
Anthony had initially mentioned it offhand, hoping to show off in front of Autumn Lopez.
It was obvious to everyone that Autumn favored Grace and Ella among the bodyguards.
Who wouldn’t want to secure a steady gig in such a prestigious family like the Bennett’s?
Working with the Bennett family meant fewer tasks and more pay. Although Anthony didn’t approve
of Autumn Lopez’s behavior as Mrs. Bennett, he didn’t want to give up this cushy job.
The most important thing was to annoy Grace and Ella.
These two women often mocked him, thinking they were in charge.
If it weren’t for Owen Bennett, he would have sent these two annoying women packing long ago.
“Okay!”
“Ms. Lopez, just hand me the wheel; I’ll make sure you get to the place safely.”
Anthony spoke, casting a smug glance at Ella and Grace.
He dared them to try to drive a wedge between him and the boss.
In Anthony’s opinion, Autumn Lopez wasn’t all that special.
Women who marry up often lack brains, making it easy for him.
As long as he kept Autumn Lopez happy, staying with the Bennett family wouldn’t be a dream.
Maybe, apart from being a bodyguard, he could do other things for the Bennetts.
He wouldn’t be just a desperate follower anymore but someone people looked up to!
“Ms. Lopez, are you feeling alright?”
Grace and Ella, noticing Autumn’s pale face, asked with concern.
Autumn was about to answer when Anthony cut in: “It’s just a bit of fun; what’s there to feel bad about?”
“Grace and Ella, I need to tell you something.”
“We are Ms. Lopez’s bodyguards, not her family. If the boss wants to do something, we should let her, right? Just because you’re afraid of trouble doesn’t mean you should stop others.”
“Ms. Lopez is a free individual, our employer, and you shouldn’t overstep.”
“Don’t meddle in other people’s lives, okay?”
Anthony finished his rant and smiled at Autumn Lopez: “Apologies, Ms. Lopez. Grace and Ella might be indecisive because they’re women.”
“If anything makes you uncomfortable, please speak up.”
“We’re professional bodyguards and won’t do anything to upset our employer.”
Autumn nodded, fully aware of Anthony’s intentions.
She glanced at Grace and Ella and reassured them, “Relax, I just need to find a place to clear my

thoughts.”
“Both of you can accompany me; it’ll be fine.”
Grace and Ella knew Autumn wasn’t one to act impulsively.
For someone as rational as Autumn to need a place to unwind, her emotions must have been
stirred after meeting Mars Wright.
“Alright.”
The two could only agree, suppressing their worries.
Anthony didn’t realize the three had a mutual understanding.
He thought Autumn’s friendly demeanor meant he had impressed her.
He started dreaming of soaring to new heights.
Unaware of when to stop, he became arrogant with a little gain.
Upon reaching the destination, Anthony boldly suggested: “How about I join you this time, Ms.
Lopez?”
“I’m also a professional bodyguard, and I know this place better. Perhaps I could even guide you.”
But Autumn didn’t entertain him this time and flatly refused.
“No need, you can wait here.”
Anthony’s face turned ugly instantly.
“Ms. Lopez…”
He tried to plead, but Autumn’s cold gaze made his spine chill.
“I understand.”
Realizing Autumn wasn’t easily fooled like other employers, Anthony clenched his teeth.
For the first time, he felt humiliated by a woman.
Fury surged through him, but due to Autumn’s status, he had to suppress his irritation and anger,
forcing a smile as he watched Autumn, Grace, and Ella enter the café.
3/5
It was indeed a nice place.
Quiet, with all facilities available.
The average cost was in the four figures, allowing one to enjoy a full day.
“Anthony certainly knows his ways around leisure,”
Autumn found a booth and sat down.
The waiter brought the menu, explaining that items without prices were complimentary, while those with prices required extra payment.
“Thank you.”
