At the sound of Nicolette's voice, Charis snapped her head up.
Standing there were the principal and Norris Richards.
Charis's face went deathly pale.
What now? What was she supposed to do now?
It was over. It was really over. She felt like she was about to faint.
Nicolette, that useless idiot who was more trouble than she was worth!
Yvette, however, was ecstatic. "Nicolette, you're finally back! And Mr. Richards is here too! Mr. Richards, you have to stand up for Miss Gonzales today!"
Elsa and Gertrude tensed at the sight of Norris and the principal. Although they hadn't stolen anything, the Richards family was one of the most powerful in Neon Spire. What if Norris decided to throw his weight around?
Norris ignored everyone else and went straight to Caitlin. He took her hands, his eyes scanning her from head to toe. "Freya, are you okay? Your roommate told me someone was bullying you and stole your necklace! Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
The principal stood beside him, adding, "Miss Freya Gonzales, please rest assured. Kingsward University will investigate this thoroughly and give you a satisfactory answer."
Charis stared, her eyes wide with horror.
Freya? Miss… Miss Freya Gonzales?
Who was Norris calling Freya? Who was the principal calling Miss Gonzales?
What was happening?
Wasn't Caitlin just some common girl, a nobody? How could she be Miss Gonzales?
Before, Charis had only been worried about her fake identity being exposed. Now, she felt as if she'd been plunged into the deepest circle of hell.
This was terrifying. Utterly terrifying.
If Caitlin was the real Miss Gonzales, then what was she? What had she been doing all this time? She, the imposter, had been lording it over the genuine article.
Nicolette was so scared she burst into tears. She was filled with regret. If only she had known, she never would have sided with that bitch Charis.
Caitlin looked at Norris. "Brother Norris, I'm fine. Don't worry."
The words "Brother Norris" made Gertrude and Elsa freeze, their jaws practically hitting the floor.
It finally clicked. Caitlin was the real heiress. She hadn't been joking after all.
A thrill of excitement shot through them. It felt like they were in a movie. No wonder people loved reading those power fantasy novels.
They had to admit, watching someone get their just desserts was deeply satisfying. Charis was finally getting what she deserved.
Caitlin continued, her voice steady, "Here's what happened. My roommate, Charis, not only impersonated me to throw her weight around the dorm, but she also framed me and my other roommates for stealing her necklace. She and her two friends were about to search our personal belongings, so I called the police. They should be here any minute."
Caitlin hadn't wanted to bother Norris with this. She could have handled it perfectly well on her own. But since Nicolette had been so clever as to bring him here, it certainly saved her some trouble.

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
