THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1056

After a moment, Beatrice seemed to reconsider. "No, no, going this afternoon doesn't seem sincere enough. Tomorrow morning, Alaina. You'll come with me first thing tomorrow morning."

"Of course."

Then, a thought occurred to Alaina. "But Mom, don't get too excited just yet. Sweetie said he's willing to join Catie's family."

"Let him! To marry a daughter-in-law as exceptional as Catie, what's wrong with joining her family? Never mind letting Sweetie join them, I'd be willing to go along as a handmaiden myself!"

Beatrice was a very open-minded person.

So what if he joined their family? Would Gordon suddenly stop being her son?

Beatrice had spent years worrying Gordon would never marry. Now that he had finally found someone he loved and successfully proposed, she wasn't about to get difficult over trivial matters.

To Beatrice, the whole issue was a non-starter.

Alaina was a bit surprised. "Mom, are you really that progressive about this?"

"What's the big deal?" Beatrice said with a smile. "Even now, he doesn't live at home. All I ask is that after he's married, he continues to bring Catie home for dinner on the 15th and 30th of each month, just like he does now."

Alaina nodded. "That's true."

Beatrice continued, her mind already racing ahead. "It looks like I need to start planning the wedding! I wonder if Catie prefers a Western or a traditional ceremony."

With that, she stopped dancing. "Butler, butler! Help me contact several wedding planning agencies!"

Normally, weddings required six months to a year of preparation. The last time the Sylvester family had hosted such a celebration was for Alaina and Justice Cumming's wedding, but that was thirty years ago. Besides, marrying off a daughter was different from welcoming a daughter-in-law. Beatrice was determined to plan everything perfectly. She wouldn't let the wedding be any less grand just because her son was joining another family.

"Mom, I'll help you!" Alaina said, quickly following her.

With Skyler also approaching a marriageable age, she figured it was a good time to learn a thing or two.

Carey Richards chimed in, "Freya, is this about you and Gordon?"

News of Gordon's grand proposal had spread far and wide, so Carey was well aware of it. More importantly, she had a very high opinion of the young man.

Hearing this, Fortune Kensington also turned his attention to Caitlin. Like Carey, he was also very fond of Gordon.

"Yes," Caitlin nodded. "Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, Gordon and I have been together for four years now, and our relationship is very stable. So, I'd like to bring him home to meet you all. What day would be convenient for you?"

Now that Gordon had proposed, some things needed to be put in motion.

Keira smiled warmly. "That's wonderful! Your grandfather and your parents have already met Gordon, but I haven't yet. Bring him over soon. I want to see for myself what kind of young man has managed to charm our Freya so completely."

It was the natural course of things for young people to marry. As long as this Gordon was a trustworthy man, getting married sooner rather than later was perfectly fine. After all, her granddaughter had been with him for several years.

Besides…
