Ann stared at the woman who had suddenly appeared, her mind reeling.
A sense of dread washed over her - sharp and clear, like staring straight at an enemy.
Who was this?
Why was there a strange woman with her father?
And holding a child, no less.
Could it be...
This was Gavin's new wife, and that was their child?
No. Impossible!
Even though Gavin and Amanda were divorced, he still had her, his precious daughter.
Gavin would never have a child with someone else!
Ann knew how much Gavin cared for her.
It had to be...
This woman was just a nanny Gavin had hired.
Even though she was holding a child, Gavin had always been a kind-hearted man. He probably felt sorry for a woman her age and allowed her to bring her child to work.
With that thought, Ann calmed down considerably. She looked up at the woman and said, "I'm Ann. You must be the nanny my dad hired, right?"
The woman didn't speak, instead turning to look at Gavin.
Gavin finally snapped out of his shock, his brow furrowed. "This is my wife. And this is my son!"
Wife? Son?
Ann's eyes flew open.
He had remarried! Gavin had actually remarried!
Not only had he remarried, but he had a child with another woman behind her back.
"Dad!" Ann's composure shattered, her voice filled with rage. "I'm your daughter! How could you have a child with someone else?"
"Daughter?" Gavin's eyes were filled with scorn. "As I recall, when Amanda and I divorced, you firmly chose her side. You even disowned me as your father."
Otherwise, why would he name his company Pallas? It was a variation of her name.
That proved he still cared about his daughter!
It was this woman! It had to be this woman who had bewitched Gavin.
As the saying goes, a new wife means a new father.
Everything that had led them to this point was her fault.
At that thought, Ann's expression twisted. She turned to Mrs. Templeton and swung her hand. "It's you! You're the homewrecker who seduced my father! You shameless, disgusting bitch!"
Gavin stepped in front of his wife, grabbing Ann's wrist with a powerful grip. "Ann! We cut ties a long time ago. As of five years ago, we are strangers! I suggest you stop causing a scene at my door and insulting my wife! Otherwise, don't blame me for what happens next!"
With his final words, Gavin flung her hand away, sending Ann stumbling back and crashing to the floor.
Thud!
A sharp pain shot through her body. Ann looked up at him, her face a mask of disbelief.
"I'm your daughter!" Tears streamed down Ann's face as she looked at Gavin. "Gavin! How could you do this to me, your own daughter, for an outsider?"

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
