THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 1133

It was Caitlin who had stepped in and solved the entire problem.

Elsa could yell at her, Gertrude thought, but she had no right to be so ungrateful to Caitlin. Caitlin had never acted superior to them because of her status. For Elsa to say such things now was simply heartless.

"Did I ask for her help?" Elsa screamed, her eyes bloodshot. "Gertrude, did I ask her to help?"

It was true. Caitlin had helped when her family was in crisis. But would Caitlin have helped if her parents hadn't been about to jump? She had held onto that favor for all these years, which proved she hadn't helped out of genuine kindness. She just wanted Elsa to worship her as a savior. How was that any different from what Charis Gonzales used to do? At least Charis was open about her manipulations. Caitlin was a schemer who hid behind a facade of friendship.

Caitlin nodded slightly, a faint smile on her lips. "You're right, you didn't ask. I did it because I wanted to."

With that, Caitlin picked up her purse from the table and turned to walk out.

"Catie!"

Gertrude immediately ran after her.

After a few steps, Gertrude glanced back at Elsa, her voice filled with frustration. "Elsa! You've lost your mind over a man! Go on, get married! I wish you a long and happy life together!"

If they weren't friends, who would bother to say such honest, difficult things to her? And what did Elsa do? Instead of trying to see the problem, she blamed everything on them.

With that final word, Gertrude hurried to catch up with Caitlin.

Watching them leave, Elsa smirked. Just as she thought. Gertrude was nothing but Caitlin's lapdog. Not only was she in cahoots with Caitlin, but the moment Caitlin left, she ran right after her. So desperate not to lose her powerful connection.
