The piercing sound echoed through the quiet lobby, and nearly everyone turned to look in their direction.

"Tsk, tsk, look at them trying to act important and getting caught. Did they really think the facial recognition system at Gonzales Holdings is just for show?"

"This is hilarious. I could tell from the start. They look so broke, there's no way they're executives! Trying to use the CEO's entrance! Pathetic, absolutely shameless!"

Listening to the blaring alarm and the crowd's mockery, Elsa's face turned pale with panic.

How could this be happening?

She had just been to Gonzales Holdings five months ago.

Elsa never imagined that a place she could usually enter freely would be barred to her today.

Elsa frantically patted the camera on the scanner.

But it didn't respond, continuing to blare its shrill warning: "ALERT! ALERT! UNRECOGNIZED INDIVIDUAL ATTEMPTING UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY!"

Xander was equally stunned.

The pride he had felt moments ago was now replaced by utter embarrassment.

Before either of them could react, seven or eight security guards swarmed over. "What do you think you're doing? This is the CEO's exclusive entrance, no unauthorized personnel! Get out of here!"

Hearing the guard, Xander puffed out his chest and narrowed his eyes. "Watch your tone. My wife, Elsa, is best friends with your boss, Ms. Gonzales! If you offend us, Ms. Gonzales will have you all fired!"

The lead guard let out a snort of derision. "As if our Ms. Gonzales would have classless friends like you. You're delusional! Get lost before you embarrass yourselves further."

Xander was about to retort but was stopped by Elsa. "Honey, there are too many people here. Let's go for now. I'll figure something out."

Xander followed Elsa away from the CEO's entrance and back out to the front of the building.

Elsa then said, "Honey, we have so many relatives at home today. Why don't you go back and entertain the guests, and I'll stay here and wait for Caitlin? As soon as I see her, I'll bring her back right away."

Once the Forrester relatives saw Caitlin, the misunderstanding would be cleared up.

"Alright then, honey. I'll go back to the hotel and wait for you," Xander nodded.
