Bark like Monday?
Not only was Caitlin stunned, but even Monday, who was nearby, tilted his head in confusion.
"Wow! Dad's going to bark like me. He must really, really love me."
Monday proudly trotted over to Gordon, his favorite bone in his mouth, and let out a sharp "Woof! Woof!"
Gordon freed a hand to pat Monday's head.
This made Monday even more smug. He shot a triumphant glance at Snow, the cat.
Snow turned her head away in disdain.
"Please. I have no idea what that dumb dog is so proud of. Like I care. Even if Dad begged to meow like me, I still wouldn't be impressed, " Snow thought loftily as she groomed herself.
But just as Monday was eagerly awaiting his tribute, Gemma shook her head. She didn't want to hear her dad bark like Monday. He was terrible at it. It sounded awful.
Seeing her refusal, Gordon grew anxious. "Then… how about I meow like Snow for you?"
At that, Snow perked up instantly, leaping from the top of a cabinet onto Gordon's shoulder and letting out a series of insistent meows.
"Yes! Yes! Dad's finally going to meow like me instead of just barking like that dumb dog! Dad loves cats the most! He really does!"
Gemma just shook her head again. She didn't want to hear him meow like Snow, either.
Seeing his daughter refuse to eat no matter what, Gordon was getting desperate. "Gemma, sweetheart, you have to eat so you can grow up big and strong, just as beautiful and amazing as Mommy! Please, just one bite?"
Gemma continued to shake her head.
Gordon sighed. "Gemma, oh, Gemma. What do you want from me?"
