EIRLYS’ POV
I didn’t know what came over me.

One moment, I was resting against Kierygan’s neck feeling the steady thrum of his heartbeat beneath my cheek. The next, something… shifted. The warmth of his skin, the faint trace of smoke and frost that always clung to him-it was intoxicating. I breathed him in again, deeper this time. The scent coiled around my senses, rich and alive, until it drowned out everything else.
My stomach twisted. Not from pain, but from want
It was hunger, sharp and startling after days of forcing food down. My mouth watered, my pulse stumbled. I didn’t mean to graze his skin. I didn’t mean to bare my fangs.
I especially didn’t mean to sink them into his skin-or draw blood.
Then his voice vibrated through his throat, low and rough against my lips. “Eirlys,” he said, the
sound trembling beneath my mouth. “Are you… trying to feed on me?”
My eyes flew open. The world snapped back int

Kierygan didn’t speak at first-he only looked at me his expression dark and unreadable. I couldn’t tell if it was anger flickering behind his eyes or something far more dangerous.
His hands cupped my face, forcing me to meet his gaze. “Why are you sorry?” he asked, hoarse. “It
felt… f*cking amazing.”
Then, slowly, his hand moved. His fingers slipped to the back of my head, threading through my hair. I caught my breath as he guided me back toward his throat.
“If that’s the only thing you can keep down,” he murmured, his voice low and steady, “then take
more.”
I blinked, disbelief and thrill mingling in my voice. “Really?”
A soft hum escaped him, his thumb brushing along the side of my neck-a touch so light it sent

sparks skittering across my skin. “Go on, my star,” he whispered, the words a command and a
promise all at once. “Feed.”
So I did. My lips brushed his skin again-softer this time, hesitant, almost reverent. Then, carefully, I
sank my teeth into him.
Warmth spilled through me, flooding my mouth and chest until my whole body trembled. My glow
flared beneath my skin, matching the rhythm of his heartbeat. I tried to draw only what I needed,
but the line between what I needed and what I wanted blurred until I couldn’t tell one from the
other.
Kierygan groaned low in his throat. His fingers tightened in
my hair, guiding me closer, pressing me
against him. Every pulse of his body under mine made it harder to think, harder to stop.
When I finally lifted my head, my senses spun, light-headed and dizzy from the rush. The world
tilted around me, and I felt… intoxicated.
My tongue flicked out almost without thinking, tracing the faint traces of blood left at the small
wound I’d made, already knitting itself closed. I whispered, my voice hoarse, almost drunk with the lingering warmth. “Thank you…”
The words barely left my lips before I added, more boldly, almost slurring from the lingering
warmth, “You… tasted delicious.”
The moment the words left my lips, a deep growl rumbled from his chest. His grip tightened in my
hair, and his eyes darkened, a storm of something low, dangerous, and raw flickering behind them.
Before my scattered senses could catch up, my back slammed against the mattress. Kierygan
hovered over me, his body a furnace pressing in from every side. His lips crashed into mine, fierce
and unrelenting, demanding I respond. One hand clamped around my wrist, the other curled over my face, anchoring me, leaving no escape.
The kiss deepened, and I responded instinctively, matching the rhythm of his movements. The heat between us lifted the fog from my mind entirely, leaving only the raw, consuming clarity of him, occupying every thought.
When we finally pulled back, breathless, our chests rising and falling in unison, his eyes were dark, almost predatory. His voice came out low and raspy. “Tell me again what you just said,” he
murmured.
I blinked, cheeks burning, and whispered, “I said you… tasted delicious,”
A wolfish grin curved his lips, sharp, teasing, and dangerous. “Don’t you think you owe me a little… perhaps a return favor?”
I blinked at him, then nodded. “Of course.”

But his lips drifted lower first, and the rush of air followed as my clothes were peeled away
effortlessly, leaving me exposed to him.
He went further down still, his mouth lingering over the most sensitive parts of me-the tip of my breasts, down to my belly-before settling between my thighs. His lips trailed feather soft kisses, the tip of his tongue running up through my folds, leaving sparks that raced beneath my skin.
He gripped my knees, holding me open beneath his gaze. “You smell sweeter, my star,” he rasped, his voice roughened by restraint. Then he dipped down, devouring me before pulling back just enough to whisper, “And you taste sweeter too.”
And then he feasted.
A rush of pleasure flooded my senses, blurring thought and reason all over again. A sharp cry ripped from my throat as I arched up, my head thrashing from side to side as he expertly used his tongue and fingers to drive me relentlessly toward that peak.
KIERYGAN’S POV
Morning light filtered through the curtains, carried by a gentle breeze that spilled pale gold across Eirlys’ face. She was still asleep, turned toward me her breathing soft and even. For a long while, I didn’t move. I just watched her.
Her skin had color again. The dull pallor that had clung to her for days was gone, replaced by the faint warmth in her cheeks-something I hadn’t realized I’d missed until now. The sight tugged a small, helpless smile from me. For all the power she carried within her, it had taken my blood to restore her. The thought filled my chest with a strange, quiet warmth.
I exhaled slowly, careful not to wake her. The memories of last night flooded back with startling clarity-the moment she fed from me, the way it set us both alight, and the countless times we
made love after that.
As if sensing my thoughts, she stirred. Her eyelids fluttered, and when they opened, they met mine.
“Someone had a good sleep,” I said softly, a faint tug at the corner of my mouth.
She stretched her legs slowly, a small, contented smile curving her lips. “I did,” she murmured.
I pushed myself upright. She followed, settling beside me, her head tilting to rest lightly against my
shoulder.
After a pause, I said, “I’ll be flying to Solmere to check on the progress. I’ll be back soon.”

Eirlys straightened immediately. “Can I… come?” she asked, excitement lacing her voice.
“No. You need to stay here and rest,” I replied without hesitation.
