The entrance to Disney World was right in front of them.
Out of the corner of her eye, she could see two little faces beaming with uncontrollable joy.
Harriet's phone rang again.
It was Jason.
The thought that Jason might be even more furious than Grace, and could possibly order Two Whitaker to turn the car around immediately, made her hesitate.
Harriet pretended not to see it, slipping the phone back into her purse.
The very next second.
Ring, ring!
Two's phone rang.
He answered, acknowledged the person on the other end, and walked over, handing the phone to her. "Ma'am, Mr. Whitaker is looking for you..."
Harriet: ...
The papers were signed; the divorce was set in stone!
If that jerk dared to ruin the mood right now, she would absolutely...
"There's a VIP buggy waiting for you at the entrance. Take the cart to get around; it'll be a lot easier on you..." Jason's voice over the phone was gentle. "If you see any rides you want to go on, have Two take you through the fast pass lanes. The plane can depart late, so there's no need to rush back. Have fun!"
Harriet was taken aback. "Thanks..."
One on her left, one on her right, big hands holding little ones.
The group walked through the main gates and immediately spotted the Barbie-pink VIP cart.
"Wow, it's so pretty!"
"Mommy, I want one too..."
High-pitched, excited voices filled the air, and envious glances were cast their way from all directions.
Harriet held Archer and Seraphina's hands as they climbed onto the cart.
"Jason, is Seraphina alright?" The lights in the conference hall dimmed as someone took the stage to present a report. Jane Quentin leaned in close and asked softly, "Which hospital is she at? I'll go check on her at noon."
The rich scent of roses wafted past his ear, making the air feel inexplicably stifling.
Jason shook his head. "No need."
Jane sat up straight, a surge of urgency welling up inside her.
Everything had been perfectly arranged. Last night was supposed to be a romantic reunion to rekindle their old flames.
But Harriet had ruined it all!
The thought that she had to head back to the Capital tonight, meaning the moment she had anticipated for so long was slipping through her fingers, made Jane incredibly irritable.
Applause erupted, and the overhead lights came back on one by one.
The presentation was over.
Jason's public itinerary for this Portsmouth Summit had officially come to an end.
